What is the easiest and quickest wayto make a smokestack?
e.g. with the steam train, I know but what ride base should I use. I also don't want the 'choo choo' sounds.

I know I should start another topic, but also how do you do stacked Carousels?

The smoke stack currenlty remains a mystry to me, but for the record, it was FFF that first had it.

As for the stacked caroseules, they're very easy and do not require a trainer at all. Just raise a peice of land up, lets say....10 spaces high (probably less than ten). Build the carosuel there. Then lower the land back down, and build a carosuel below. It might take a few tries to get the desiered height.

For the smoke/fog I'd use the observation tower ride. I saw this used in Benni's Coral Creek Adventure World, which is an amazing park to learn from.

To make a smokestack (by the way, not sure if this works in RCT2), follow these instructions to the letter.

1) Place an observation tower, with just the base. ie - don't build upwards at all.
2) Change the vehicle type to steam train.
3) Test the ride, and you should see a small grey rectangle moving slowly up the observation tower. 4) Press the close ride button once at the precise moment the grey rectangle reaches the top of the tower.

This should create a smoking effect, and then you can do what you like with the rest of the ride - bury it, whatever.

Thanks. I was having trouble and got fed up, but tried again just after this was posted, so I pretty much got it on my own. The method I used for the stacked Carousels was pretty much the same and I used Beast to get them closer on top. You don't actually have to Stop the ride when you're doing the smoke. It worked fine for me just in test mode. BTW, when I try to use Dragons IOA for burying rides, etc, when I open the 'Rides' dialogue, it crashes RCT!!? This happens on any park except for brand new ones (no rides). What's going on???

Youre using the in-game version right?

It happens, its not a problem, just use an earlier version to edit the rides.

Dragons v6.0 has flaw in it that doesnt let you use the game tab after a certain number of rides are in the park. The simple solution is to use v5.0. I'm pretty sure it has all the same features as v6.0 (not like you were actually using anything besides bury rides) and it doesn't have the flaw.

About the only thing I use Dragon's for is own all land and bury rides.
