General Chat / Greatest Console Multiplayer

Seeing as though theres a topic on the best consoles etc. I decided to start one about your favourite multiplayer games on all consoles from any era.

Mine have got to be:

Time Splitters 1 and 2
Mario Cart (All versions)
Tony Hawk series

Mario Kart 64
Super Smash Brothers
Perfect Dark
Mario Party 4
Streets of Rage
Golden Axe.

There really is not contest here. The clear winner by an absolute mile is Goldeneye 007 on N64.

Shit man I totally forgot all those great Gamecube games! Fuck! Lol. Damn memory if you can even call it that. Golderneye is one of my favourite games of all time. Capture the bag on Time Splittlers is class though.

GOLDENEYE IS AN N64 GAME YOU CRIMINAL

Super smash brothers - I havn't played this on the gamecube yet, but this was the best game ever on the N64.
Goldeneye 007 - This was the best first person shooter during the days of the N64.
Socom: navy seals - its just the best game to play online with the ps2.

... Is tekken considered multiplayer? If it is then it owns my list.

Tekken is cool. Too bad I suck at it I like Hwoarang, Lei and Law the best.

On the PC version you can download a Patch off some fan site that allows multiplayer. Its prenty kool. Just a huge deathmatch across the whole city. They have one for vice city and liberty city.

Now that thats all sorted. Soul Calibar 1 and 2 are arguably the greatest beat em ups ever. Some of the best characters ever, best combos and moves and great graphics. I think its DoA that has the stages were you can use them to fight. As in, you smash someone through a window and then your fighting in an alleyway. Whatever game that is, it kicks ass too.

Call me crazy, but Mario Party was my favourite multi-player game.

An underrated party game: Parappa the Rapper for PS1. I guess this one isn't as fun after the first time through. But I had more fun playing through this once with friends than all those games of 4 player Goldeneye and Mario Kart. Smash Brothers I have a love/hate relationship with. It's fun when I'm winning. It sucks mightily when I'm losing. I always come back to it eventually though (the only time I've ever thrown a controller in disgust was while playing Smash Brothers. Luckily no one was hurt). I love Bushido Blade and Bushido Blade 2 but I can't seem to find anyone who wants to play them with me. Overall best multiplayer console game though I'd have to go with Bomberman. So simple and yet so devious. Yes. And overall favorite multiplayer game period is the original Unreal Tournament. Insta-jib mode with 16 people on a small map is insane. I love it.
