Well that is definalty a yes for the west. But east on the other hand... The pacers will easily make it to the finals. Detroit and the nets are their only problem but they can take them. The only reason thier record is so good is because they face mostly east teams. If they were in the western confereance they wouldnet even have 40 wins yet. I still think the Lakers are gunna win it all, im a laker fan .Anyway, the least we can agree on is that the playoffs are going to be awesome this year.

The West, with the Lakers, Wolves, and Kings all better than they were last year, will be a dogfight definitely. On the other side, the east should just put the Pistons and Pacers in the ECF and forget the first 2 rounds. -

Well, the Mavs lost to the Hawks AT HOME. The Kings lost to the Wiz period. And the Lakers nearly blow a 17 point lead against the anemic Clips.
The Kings clinched a playoff berth by losing to the Wizard.... cuz Portland (#9 or 10) lost too. Not the best way to clinch, but I guess.
Weird night. -

So did the Bucs, Nets, and Wizards within the last two weeks. I wouldn't be too proud. -

Damn, American basketball is hyped up more than Aussie BB - it's better too. Go Lakers... -

But this is the biggest defeat the Kings have lost so far. Lakers are only about 2 games behind Kings to be in 1st place. So did the Bucs, Nets, and Wizards within the last two weeks. I wouldn't be too proud.
Hopes Lakers will get passed T-Wolves. -

I'm just saying. When they lost by Washington by a lot, you can't be too surprised when the lose to the Lakers by even more. The Kings of won twice in the past two weeks and both times they had to make up 17 point defecits. The other games were 4 losses and all were blow outs. Things are not looking good right now in Sactown. We need Bobby Jax back bad and even then there's no guarantee they'll get any better. -

it's ok, were still tops in the division. Also, every team goes through a slump, i just wish it had been earlier in the year. I'm as disgusted as anyone at the way the Kings played last night verses the Lakers, but i almost expected it because of their play lately. I don't see the Lakers over takeing the Kings with only 10 games left, only because they have a hard schedual too and if we win the next game verses them we will have the season series. The Rockets (there next opponent) will not be a push over and they have to go to Sac again as well. Payback will be nice! -

Had you seen the Lakers lately? They'd one five games in a row... but against terrible teams, all by a combined 20 points. And after giving up plenty of big leads.
Oh well, if this is like 2001, when we finished HOT, I'll be ecstatic. -

Man, the Lakers may have a first round date with the Rockets.... thats a date ya'll wont survive. -

^ We survived tonight. Houston is definitely a tough opponent though. I'd rather face the Mavs.
Anyway, Lakers control their own destiny... if they can end the season with what would be a 17 game winning streak. A good game tonight!
Meanwhile, Sacramento has proven me wrong. I said the Mavs would suck against the Kings, but not right now. Kings... what happened?
I think their slide began around when Ed announced he was leaving. Coincidence?
And what a race for the playoffs in the West! Could be huge jostling down the stretch. Lakers still have Blazers twice to face and the Spurs, and those will be huge challenges.
After the Lakers beat Orlando in Orlando, I theorized that that game was the symbol of the season. They came out hot, then collapsed, then came back to win at the end. Well, the season's been pretty paralle. They came out hot, got hurt, then are finishing strong.
If the Lakers play like this (which will be hard to maintain because it's such a high level), they WILL win the playoffs. Assuming they don't get hurt either. I don't want this to turn into 1989 again, when they were hurt most of the season then came back when their stars got healthy, made the finals, then lost to the Pistons when the stars got hurt again.
GO LAKERS!!!! -

just ine more win for the mavs (and one loss for memphis) and the mavs won't have to play the lakers in the first round of the playoffs. that good news.
in the end lakers or kings will win this season, but maybe the mavs get a run and can reach the finals. i hope so at least.
we germans have to be for the german guy in the nba. dirk nowitzki. he is really the best german player, but nikakbatses [~1,80m](i think he is written in a different way) dunk over ming was good either. (i think it was the last world campionchi he did this amazing dunk) -

Ugh! Lakers are getting fucked by the Grizz right now in the middle of the second. WTF? They're playing worse than the USC basketball team! And they were gelling just a few games ago.... it's mystifying. As if they had magic powers that were taken away or something.
This is pathetic. Pure pathetic. -
Corkscrewed Offline
After today, I'll have to agree with you.Lakers are already pathetic anyway, I don't know what you're on about, Cork.
I still can't believe how you go from the hottest team in the league to the coldest team in the league (okay, second coldest; Clippers have bounced 12 in a row) in less than a week. I'm praying this is all just a swerve. -

Why don't you ask the Kings? They were in that position a week ago. The Lakers aren't pathetic, the Kings just played a full game's worth of defense for once and the Lakers were so surprised they didn't know how to react. They'll get their edge back. It's gonna be an exciting playoff year.
PS - I did enjoy watching Shaq earn himself another fine from the league after the game. Maybe they'll suspend him too for a second offense. One can only hope.
