I want to ride VooDoo's rapids ride... it sounds so mysterious, with this beating of Freak scene and all surrounding it... -

Ha! If you won't die, neither shall I!
I await your entry VooDoo, but scared I am not.
To be serious, I really am using this as good practice. I'll do 3 or 4 of these things.
My rapids ride is 70% done btw.

I'm really interested in..3._______________ - Create The Best NE-Member Themed Ride (November 3)
And a question: does that mean any member, even retired ones? -

my hotel is about 30% Complete. I started really slowly on it and then progressed a bit quicker. I should be at 50% tonite. I'm going much quicker than I thought I would. I like to think it's quite detailed. I'm just not sure of the colour...hmm. -

Silly question don't ya think?I might have missed this, but who exactly's doing the judging?
Although I'm really starting to get pissed off that nothing here is done democratically.
Damn you all. -

Doc, are you referring to the fact that hierarchy of this site gaining all of the special honours and duties as well as being able to post anything they wish without being flamed for it. If so, I agree. (No offence everyone) -

Not really Jon - I was referring to the fact that members have virtually no say as to what goes on here or how contests are judged, and how lists are compiled.^

Ah, I see, however I think that Iris should have control of how contests are judged. After all, he does pay for the site. Without him, NE would be nothing. Therefore I disagree with your statement and ask for my last post to be ignored.
Thankyou.
p.s. You may be wondering why I am using proper English my posts now. This is to prove I am now more mature. -

You also have to remember that without members, this site is equally nothing. I'm not denying Iris the right to oversee how things are run - I've always agreed that this is HIS site, but what I'm saying is that his current policy just isn't fair in my opinion. There's always room for compromise or trying different approaches. I think it's time a change took place (albeit temporary or as an experiment).Ah, I see, however I think that Iris should have control of how contests are judged. After all, he does pay for the site. No one is immune to flaming.
I don't quite see where the complaining is coming from, iris hasn't done anything wrong... and (if I'm correct) I don't think iris is the only judge here. Until something goes drastically wrong, I don't see how the way things are going is a bad thing.
And, that's an incorrect generalization that "nothing" is democratic; the NE Invitational is member-voted... Survivor is member-voted, etc. Hi-Rollers was not based on iris's opinion alone, there was the whole panel of judges... If we relied on member-votes for Spotlight, it would end up in disaster like the VPotM at RCT2.com... controversy is cool and all, but that was just pathetic...
Furthermore, iris never has said his lists or Spotlight choices were 100% fact, no questions asked. It is HIS personal perception on things, nothing more or less. It should be taken as just that. -

Ah well, it's something we'll have to agree to disagree with in that case.
Like I say, there's nothing wrong with experimentation. Why not give members a try at voting for Spotlight. I seriously doubt we'd make a drastically bad choice.
