I think it's pretty funny, actually, along with having a good beat. And if you listen to the lyrics you should understand why its called "Got Some Teeth". Other than that, Cheers is an excellent album. Obie's got that Eminem flow going and the production is top notch as well with Dre, Em, and Timbaland all making beats for many of the tracks. My personal favorite tracks are "Cheers", "Got Some Teeth", "Lady", "Bad Bitch", "Follow My Life", "Hoodrats", and "Outro".Why do u all like 'got some teeth'? that track is so screwed up. What the hell is with the name? There are no lyrics, the video is horrible and the only that I bet you like about it is the beat. This only shows the true state of mainstream today. Barf.

if you don't be quiet, I'm going to shaft you...Fag fight!
Excellent!
anyway, nate: I too think that new song of daves really is no good.
I've actually been listening to 'everyday' alot more and it has grown on me as of recent. I feel if Dave had more time to write all those songs, the album could have been much better (he wrote every last one in less than like, 3 fucking months... thats just not right. Good thing his songs are like good wine: they get better with age).
Btw: what IS your favorite song, vtd? -

He means Lloyd Banks from G-Unit...
and Natelox, "Got Some Teeth" is supposed to be commercial. That's the MTV-mainstream-get-kids-to-buy-this-album single. Eminem did the same thing with "My Name Is", "The Real Slim Shady", "Without Me", and "Purple Pills" from Devils Night.
Cheers is an excellent album. It isn't lacking in many areas, but Eminem has a couple screws loose.
Best tracks: Lady, Shit Hits the Fan, Follow My Life, Hands on You, Outro, and We All Die One Day (which I first heard on DJ Green Lantern's "Conspiracy Theory")
And I hope I didn't read someone say that "Chocolate Starfish and Hotdog Flavored Water" is the best Limp Bizkit album.... that was the biggest POS I've ever listened to half of. -

I realize this, but it doesn't prevent me from labeling it commercial garbage. Eminem/Aftermath have this dumb way of getting people to buy their stuff, it's a forumla really. Have one or two dumb, crap songs that make no sense and have no lyrics but a good beat, release those as your singles, and then put the good tracks on the album....really makes me want to check it out [/sarcasm]and Natelox, "Got Some Teeth" is supposed to be commercial. This is why people who don't know about rap shouldn't talk about it.
Nate, if Canadian rappers are so amazing, why haven't they broke though to American audiences, like American rappers have obviously become mad famous in Canada. -

I don't play hockey. I'm more into baseball and football, but I don't know if that was directed at me or not. If it was, you're an idiot. First of all I'm not Canadian, and second, hockey isn't just popular in Canada.LMAO
go play hockey, a' -

I have a little 'theory' in two parts. First, although SOME canadian rappers do create 'mainstream' music, generally canadian rap isn't made to be mainstream though, it doesn't have that 'commercial' feel to it as MOST american mainstream does (this isn't to say all american rap is like this). Second, I think the GENERAL attitude in the US is a lack of respect for Canadians (and the same is true from us to you), so the general publc already has their mind made up that it isn't good and therefor they don't want to hear it.Nate, if Canadian rappers are so amazing, why haven't they broke though to American audiences, like American rappers have obviously become mad famous in Canada.
And btw, I don't live in America, so I can't say this is true, BUT, I've heard canadian group "Swollen Members" is big in the underground there, and I've also heard that K-OS (FYI, that review is on it's way) has been getting video play on 106th and Park (right show?) and is nominated for "Best International Album" for the source awards (i know you hate the source, but i have a feeling 50 has a lot to do with that).
and Kumba, it's 'eh' not 'a'. Insult us correctly atleast. -

I think that you think if it has a more up-tempo, almost rock sounding beat (much like alot of the tracks on Cheers and Eminem Show especially) that it is automatically mainstream. Just because an artist focuses on production for a track just as much as the lyrics doesn't mean that it's mainstream. Underground rappers don't necessarily WANT to be underground (although some prefer to be) they just can't help the fact that they haven't hit it big yet. Just because they play it on MTV doesn't automatically make it mainstream. My view of mainstream would be a song about a typical rap stereotype (bitches, hoes, look at my money, party in the club, etc.) In this sense, a good album uses mainstream as a strategy to sell, but only has 1 or 2 songs of mainstream appeal. This leaves 15 or so tracks that aren't mainstream and so the album can still be one hell of an album, like Cheers. Just my thoughts.I have a little 'theory' in two parts. Yeah, I kinda figured that. But how does one get 'Banks' typed out as 'Mann'.He means Lloyd Banks from G-Unit...

Not real sure... maybe it's the same way as splitting 50 Cent and Lloyd Banks as something seperate from G-Unit... *shrug* I wonder if that's anything like D12 not including Eminem... wouldnt it be D10 then?
