Just got Cheers today, Obie Trices new album. For those who dont know who he is, hes a rapper signed to Eminems record label, Shady records. Hes been around for a while now, I first heard him appearing on D12's album 'Devils Night' (classic). I didnt realy hear enough of him to judge him by.
However he's been apearing in quite a few Eminem tracks over the past year, including Go To Sleep (sound track to cradle to the grave) and various other tracks, always impressing me.
Now, he recently released Got some teeth and rap name (not on the album! ) and these are great songs IMO. Everything Iv heared of Obie has impressed me, so I decided to get cheers, and 'results may vary', Limp Bizkits new album.
Every song on this album is ace, so far Iv listerned to it about 3 times, and Iv not found one song I dislike. Its got great artists helping out such as Busta Rhymes, Dre, Eminem, D12 and more.
The best songs on the album are, Got some teeth, Shit hits the fan, we all die one day and Bad Bitch. We all die one day is fuckin brilliant, and features 50 cent, G-Unit, Lloyd Mann, and Eminem. The beat and rapping both totaly fuckin rule, and come together to form one of my faviorate songs for months.
I deffinetly recomend this album, 9/10, simply because no album is ever perfect. But this is deffinetly a big hitter, and will be raved about when it comes out. Also, Obie and Xzibit made a song called Smoke and Ride which didnt make the final cut, go download it!
Now onto Results May Vary.
Hmmmmm, to be honest, It failed to impress me. Big time.
Theyve gone less hardcore since Chocolate Starfish, and IMO its worked totaly against them. It seems to me theyve become more of a conventional band and less of a renegade group. But then again, it would have had to be exceptional to be better than Chocolate starfish.
It does however have its moments of brilliance, mainly Red Light Green Light, which Iv had for a while now. It features Snoop Dogg, who IMO makes the song what it is, with his excelent verse in it. This will be the second song released off the album.
Eat you alive is an excelent example of classic Limp. Its one of the only heavy songs on the album, and IMO it is one of the best. Its already bin released so im sure you've heared it.
So overall the only songs worth a shout out are the two singles. Red light Green Light and Eat you alive carry the whole album. But I havent had the album for long so maybe it will grow on me. At the moment I give it about a 5/10. A big dissapointment for me.
In conclusion, Obie Trice, Cheers = Must get. Limp Bizkit, Results may vary = Worth a buy, but expect dissapointments.
The new D12 album is being worked on, happy days! -

Obie Trice..I'm really not feeling him or his music. "Got Some Teeth" is just regular commerical garbage IMO. The video is just dumb aswell. I would suggest picking up "A Sample And A Drum Machine" by DL Incognito instead...but of course, this is all my opinion. -

The best song I've heard from Obie was him with Dr.Dre and Eminem in "Body Guard" , very catchy beat . -

I haven't heard the album (obie trice) yet but i have certainly heard and read good things about it. Hes supposed to be the next big rapper. And his work with D12 was just amazing.
Best examples are Fight Music and When the Music stops (actually from some eminem album) -

Poor misguided little boy... I just saw an episode of Sessions At West 54th with the Rollins Band (Henry Rollins of Black Flags solo act) and Speech (founding member and main MC/songwriter for Arrested Development's solo act).
A much better pairing of hardcore Rock and Hip-Hop. Especially seeing as Henry Rollins is actually hardcore! And Speech - well, he's just an overly pretencious fucker who makes really great (although disgustingly preachy) music.
Anywho...
What exactly drove you to make this purcahse - and are you seeking any form of treatment? You should. -

lol, my tastes. You see, I mainly like rap music, and the odd rock/metal band, such as Limp Bizkit or Linkin Park. What exactly drove you to make this purcahse
"Got Some Teeth" is just regular commerical garbage IMO
I respect your taste for music Nate, and if you dont like the song, fair enough. But I dont know how you can class it as 'regular commercial garbage'. Commercial music doesnt automaticly mean its crap. IMO its one of the best songs on the album.
Shit Hits the fan = wicked Ja' Rule Diss. -

Great, but the Rap you seem to enjoy, isn't very good rap - and the Rock you enjoy is just outright terrible. Go check out the two bands I mentioned in my first post - you might like them, and heck, you may wind up with good taste. Or not.lol, my tastes. You see, I mainly like rap music, and the odd rock/metal band, such as Limp Bizkit or Linkin Park.

I picked up Cheers and DMB's Some Devil today.
Cheers is excellent, and in my opinion, a much more complete album than what 50 cent put out a few months ago. I really liked his first single Got Some Teeth. Then again, the only first single I've ever really disliked from a Shady record album was The Real Slim Shady. This sounds sort of like Without Me and I think it worked.
Anyway, best tracks are...
Cheers
Shit Hits the Fan (Ft Em and Dr Dre)
We All Die One Day (I've had this bangin' since the summer when they put it out on Soul Assassins Mix Tape)
Look Into My Eyes (ft Nate Dogg)
Outro (imo, the best on the album... very much a reminder of "Rabbit Run" but with Obie and D-12 thrown in aside Eminem.
Some Devil is a dissapointment. It has some good tracks, but overall, nothing really stands out. A big letdown after Busted Stuff and (and I'm the only DMB fan in the world who thinks this...) a strong "Every Day" as well.
Best tracks...
Dodo
Gravedigger (acoustic version)
Grey Street (acoustic version on the bonus CD that comes in the package) -

Why do u all like 'got some teeth'? that track is so screwed up. What the hell is with the name? There are no lyrics, the video is horrible and the only that I bet you like about it is the beat. This only shows the true state of mainstream today. Barf.
