Okay, got a lil' question for everyone. Is this tree selection okay? I am fond of it... but yeah. Just wanted a few other opinions.

It does look very nice. Nice and green...more bushes would be nice also.
But it looks good, matches the colors, etc. -

Get rid of the Chinese Cedar, and add the nicely filled out smallish medieval tree, i'm sure you know the one, and you're there. The architecture looks great, but i believe that the ivy could go without too much atmosphere being lost. And it will please a lot of people, i'm sure. -

Thanks for the criticism. The Chinese Cedar tree stays. I like it. Here's a pretty big shot of the entrance to Atlantis Reborn. This is, by far, my most detailed piece of architecture. It has taken FOREVER to finish. lol

Wow.
That is amazing. It's a lot like what you would think ALE would be like in RCT2, with all the stuff everywhere, the layers upon layers of architecture, glass, lots of colors, it's just perfect.
This is one I'll defintely be waiting for.

*edit* -- wow, lotsa quarter tiles. detailed shit, that is. -

I love it! I hope this gets John a parkmaker spot. For chirsts sake look at that architecture! It's amazing. It's tall without being ugly and it works. The Ivy is good in some places and horrid in others. And the trees are blocking too much of the archy which leads to the "cluddered" feel. Maybe that's just my opinion though.

Edit: Holy shit! I'm getting dizzy. How the hell do you make archy like that John!? God no wonder you never finish a park! That has to take forever. The results are stupendius! Good lord... I'm now one of your fans. Now i really hope this gets you a parkmaker spot, John, you are completly desirving.
I would worship it but that would be sacra-religius... -

Too me, the building has TOO much detail. It looks like a jumbled mess of things that has no order. It looks like you placed things at random, IMO. But if your going for a detailed look, i think you have got it. -

Not too bad! Really though, I think there are too many poles sticking out. Other then that, It looks good . I'm really digging your mix of colors. Some people don't seem so good at that but you've done it well. Keep up the good work guys. This could be a good park. -

Funny, that's what I've always thought about your work.Wow...I dont like it.
1. Tree selection blows
2. The abstract fences look fugly
3. The metal fence in the middle is bad
4. Looks too messy and cluttered
Great job John, let's just hope sircursealot doesn't screw the project over. -

I still don't like it. I agree with bender, the building is far too detailed, so its a very complicated structure. It's just not something that you want to stare at and say it looks good. I see it a random structure, even more random than mine. It honestly looks like you picked a bunch of walls and objects and threw it all together to make a big nasty monster of an entrance. I hope you can see where I'm coming from, it just doesn't look nice, at all. Whoever (John/sir) made that building needs to work on making it a lot more simpler, otherwise its a blob. I know you were probably trying to make it so that it wasn't symmetrical, but it has obviously gone wrong. It'd be nice to see more subtle changes to balance it rather than two sides exactly the same and then changing one side to look completely different. (Hope you understand all that...) -
John Offline
If you can't see symmetry in there, you're blind. This type of structure IS supposed to make your eyes wander around it abit. Thanks for the opinions, I'll try w/o the wood poles, but otherwise I like it. -
gir Offline
Yes I can see symmetry.
You just have too many elements of non-symmetry that make it look horrible. -
Dixi Offline
Yes, it is very detailed, your treading a fine line between sheer genious, and complete randomness. At the moment I think your slightly on the random side. There is almost too much to look at. And you also need to watch out for building the architecture too high, else you wont be able to see certain things.
But yes, the effort is deffinetly visable, 10/10 for effort. But like I sed, the "randomness" is so great that it fails to bring the screen together to form something solid. The first screen however is great, even if there is only a little shown.
Its promising, good luck, and im patienlty waiting for new screens. -
Blitz Offline
tch, don't be pussified by these lame guys... complex architecture is where it's at-- *sings: two turntables and a microphone-- ...sorry.
It's NOT too much to look at, so keep it up. -
Critic Offline
As with the above statement, it's not too much to look at or eyesoring, as I find lots of ultra-detailed architecture to be.
It looks very eye-pleasing on that note, and I love the colour selection.
Keep it up. -
CoasterWizard Offline
Looks really nice. Lots going on in the screen.
I think you should reconsider having those metal fences in there though, or at least use less of them. Same thing with the abstract fences... it might just be the angle, but the top left corner is littered with them, and ruins the look of the building.
Aside from that, colours are spot-on, and the archy kicks ass! Great work John! -

Sadly, many are clinging to the illusion that RCT2 has to look like LL to be good. I love detail so layer as much on there as you can. Just don't forget that the randomness of structure can take over very quickly and the building will lose it asthetic value. It looks great tho and I'd have to see it from farther out to get the total picture, so really not much to criticize. -
deanosrs Offline
I like it, but at the moment I think it would benefit from larger towers pretruding from it. At the moment there's lots of 1x1 and 2x2 attached to the structure. That's how personally I would change it... others might disagree. -
John Offline
Thanks for the opinions once again. I'll go into detail with responses regarding your posts now because before I had to leave for school.
gir - Quite the contrary, this building has taken HOURS to finalize and get detailed, still isn't completely finished. Not necessarily as random as you make it out to be, 'detail' is (IMO) completely different from 'random', everything is choreographed to accent and accentuate pieces of the building. Like I said, there are elements of symmetry in there, but as the building gets higher, the symmetry turns into towers, balconies, and the like. I respect your opinion, but feel like you are overanalyzing the building and not 'looking at the whole picture'. Symmetry and simplicity aren't always best, granted there is a happy medium, I don't necessarily like it. For this type of theme, structures WILL be complex and WILL have lots of detail, sorry if you aren't interested, but I like how this has turned out, detail and all.
VooDoo - ... Is it just me? I am getting the feeling that the high amount of detail (or, 'randomness') just isn't for everyone. lol
Blitz-sama - Ahhh, a detail appreciator. Thanks for the encouragement.
CoasterWizard - Again, thanks for the kind words. I'll play around with the steel fences, adding and subtracting where they get a little 'heavy', thanks for the advice.
ToonTowner - I suppose a much larger overview shot of the building with surroundings would be best? The surroundings really do add alot and I can see where some are coming from not having seen the landscape. Thanks.
deanosrs - IMO towers would clutter the building even more, but there are balconies and towers around the outside portion of it.
