Have you seen BattlefieldRCT? Hehe.Show us something better without making an RCT 1 park that looks like every other good RCT 1 park out there.
Anyway, I don't know about how accurate it is or whatever but I think it looks ok. Still, something of the magic of RCT is lost in recreations IMO...I still see it as a fantastical game -

Like I said before, it is still in the SE. I want to get all of my construction and landscaping done before I officialy give up my option of dropping/adding scenery. A lot of my structures are influenced by real ones. The guest services building is actually my version of a gas station in Alpharetta, Georgia. I like the modern buildings in Alpharetta and Orlando, and I tried to make SF Plaza look kind of like an Orlando shopping area. Wait until you see what I have planned for Metropolis Park and the Gotham Riverfront.I am really liking this park, I love realistic buildings even though I can't really perfect the style my self. Although about 5% of what you've shown is a bit bland, the rest looks above average. I would like to see more, maybe perhaps some pictures of rides in the park.

I'm sorry I came in late, and I think you're moving on from the discussion, sorry. But I have to add to this.
I guess what I mean is that, yeah, the American flag you have (which only required one click of the mouse) looks more realistic/professional then a flag you could make with fences or tiles, but it's so foreign. With RCT2 everyone can invent different palletes. True, TT makes rooves and tiles mostly, and that's all good, most of the stuff he makes is modeled after the game and it looks okay. Some of the stuff imported from programs or other games though - UGH! I think it's mostly all ugly. For example, in my survivor entry, I was going to use a piece of abstract scenery, but it wasn't included in the map, so I had to use custom scenery. I like how it turned out I guess but the scenery part isn't RCT to me. Also, that is another reason I am "still impressed" with RCT1 stuff, like most recently Cataclysm, because I have all that same stuff that BG/Ed used to make the park, but I never would have thought of making it! I was looking at the fish and the city, and I was going wow! That's so cool how he did that! But with TT's lighthouse in his IOA, I wasn't that impressed with it because although it looked like a good building aesthetically, I couldn't relate to it because there would be no way I could make that, as TT, once he created the scenery, had a completely different pallete then everyone else. It isn't like regular art where although the tools are different, all the products are made with the same material. With custom scenery, it's like it's a new game every time a park with new scenery is released! Anyway, it seems like custom scenery is a way to keep the game interesting, but after a while I think it'll dry the game out. Once all the scenery people can think of is invented, I think the objects will get boring, because they just aren't the game. As much as people might want to deny it, the objects that came with the game all fit into the game like a glove, and that's why they never get old. This is especially true in RCT1, but I haven't seen anything Western as convincing as the Western that comes with the game, and the same goes for stuff like walls, etc. Those aztec walls SAC made looked cool, but they just weren't RCT to me. Most of the reason I love the game is to see what people create with WHAT THEY HAVE. True, Meterix, those awnings get kind of repetitive after a while, but I don't think anyone cared until custom scenery was introduced, then people got greedy. And even if you do prefer RCT2, it's sad to see people abandon or even boycott RCT1, because they are really two different games now in my opinion.
And SAC - about the park with no custom scenery - if I ever create an RCT2 full park, which I just might, I plan to take you up on the challenge.
Oh, and just in case anyone cares, the reason I boycott WW while preaching about not boycotting RCT1 is that I feel the new scenery, which is all they added to the game really, is just as foreign to the game as the custom scenery out there, like the rock scenery I'm seeing or all the ugly stuff from Zoo Tycoon. -

Yes, WW is CRAP!!!
Whats wrong with my mayan walls? mostly they are 1/4, 1/2 and full height roman walls.... there are two special ones with glyphs, the rest is so I dont have to fuss with the 3/4 height roman wall that comes in the game.

It is not about how the scenery looks, but how it is used. As for screenshots, I don't have any yet. I am a real S-L-O-W parkbuilder. I usually get sidetracked going back and fixing up old structures. I'm planning the next area now, but don't expect any screens till Sunday.Yes, WW is CRAP!!!

Sorry for the serious lack of updates. I haven't had much time to work on the park but I have gotten Batman: The Rides entrance building done. Take a look and tell me what you think. It's supposed to look like a Gotham factory/warehouse building. I haven't finished themeing around it yet so a larger screen will have to wait.
EDIT: It is in the SFOF album. -

Six Flags over Florida
December 1, 2003
Orlando, Florida- Six Flags Theme Parks announced today that their most risky and costly venture yet is well under way on the north side of Orlando. Six Flags over Florida is set to be in direct competition with Universal Orlando Resort and the Walt Disney World Resort, both major tourist destinations.
"Six Flags won't have any competition from Disney," one Orlando teen said. "Both parks draw very different crowds. Universal is the one shaking in their boots."
When Six Flags announced the park in early June, most critics said the park wouldn't last through it's first five years. Critics agree on this because Six Flags has a reputation for letting parks fall into disrepair and really bad customer service.
"You let us worry about that," said Lead Designer of Six Flags over Florida, Scott Shanklin. "This park will boast a customer service program equivalent to that of the Disney Cast Members down the road, if not better. Already we have thousands of trainees being taught everything they need to know to run this park. Also, every employee who will be in direct contact with guests must learn basic Spanish, French, and Japanese to better serve our foreign guests."
But why is Six Flags so cocky about the competition? Scott said that can be easily explained:
"This Six Flags is going to be unlike any other Six Flags park out there. It will contain next generation thrill rides and themeing. We realized when we decided to build this park that we would have to do something special, so we have decided to theme five of the parks eight lands to the state of Florida itself. These areas have been designed, but are being kept under wraps until the company decides to announce them. The other three areas will be themed to the DC Comics characters Batman and Superman and the Warner Bros. franchise Looney Tunes."
Many parks boast next generation thrill rides, but what will Six Flags over Florida actually contain? The company isn't revealing any details yet, but talks with B&M, Intamin AG, Huss, and other major ride manufacturers have been going on for a while. Rumor has it that Florida's first hyper coaster will grace this park, but it is anyones guess which company will produce the coaster.
"We have one ride that will be really special, even in this highly competitive area," Scott further commented.
And what about the rumored hotel?
"That was axed a long time ago. We are Six Flags, not Disney or Hilton. There were plans for an elaborately themed hotel on the property's southwestern border, but Six Flags, Inc. decided to focus all of their attention and finances on the park itself."
***NE Exclusive*** Six Flags has released the first photo of the Old St. Augustine area. The photo shows the recreated Bridge of Lions in St. Augustine and serves as the entrance to the Old St. Augustine area. Some touch-ups are still to be done, and expect to see the Castillo de San Marcos sometime in the near future. The photo can be found in Scott's Webshots album.

Six Flags over Florida
December 09, 2003
Orlando- Six Flags, Inc. has unveiled the second area of the new Six Flags park being built off of Interstate 4 on the north side of Orlando. The first area is the entrance area named Six Flags Plaza, and the newly unveiled area is Old St. Augustine.
"Old St. Augustine brings back the days of Spanish settlement in Florida. With it's mossy trees and unique architecture, Old St. Augustine will be one of the parks crown jewels," said Scott Shanklin, Lead Designer of Six Flags over Florida.
Plans for the area have also been revealed at last. Along with the already recreated Bridge of Lions, Six Flags has the groundwork prepared for the Castillo de San Marcos, a very large fort on the coast of St. Augustine.
"Inside the fort will be a new interactive dark ride. Guests walking through the fort to the food court at it's center will be viewed by guests on the ride, but those riders will not know that it is other guests that they are looking at."
Construction on the fort is expected to begin within the month. A lack of materials has pushed the forts completion date back, but expect screens by next week.
