Best:
1. BareNaked Ladies = perfection
2. Dave Matthews Band = I'd define them as "poetic alternative"
3. Tool = perfection in modern hard rock
4. Blues Traveler = John Popper owns harmonica
5. Hootie and The Blowfish = I don't like most of their stuff, but 3 of their songs are soooooooo good
Worst Ever
5. Good Charolette = ugh
4. Offspring = I hate the music, I hate the band, and most of all, I hate the lead singers voice
3. Blink 182 = Like Good Charolette, but worse
2. Korn = don't even get me started
1. Metallica = Their music sucks, the band members suck, and they destroyed Napster, I hate them with a burning passion -

My most favorite-ist bands ever (in absolutely no order, at all):
Black Tape For A Blue Girl
The Cocteau Twins
The Cure
Sigur Ros
Mum
My most favorite-ist solo artists ever (in even less of any particular order):
Brian Eno
David Bowie
Peter Gabriel
My least favorite-ist anything ever:
The Mars Volta!
...well, not the worst ever but I'm just so fucking annoyed with this band right now! They do everything King Crimson did on their three (or is it four?) albums made during 1981-1985 (when the split up - again), only without any form of skill or talent or, um, anything.
They're the worste excuse for Math/Post/Prog/Art/Whatever I've heard in my entire life.
And when something as annoying as that is done poorely, well, it becomes unbearable (wheras even the most annoying stuff, when done well, can be an experience worth, well, experiencing - if only once).
I would put honorable mentions, but I can't. I just can't. I tried - but it turned out quite poorely. So, yeah.
Edit: Hmm...
...Techno? KMFDM? No - not at all. Some of their more recent (90's) efforts were somewhat Synthpop inspired - but Techno? Come on...An awesome mixture of techno and Industrial.

So I guess I should be checking out some of this Tool stuff, seeing as my music taste tallies with QOTSA's (mostly...) and he likes them and stuff... -

Am I the only one that finds it hard to imagine mantis listening to Tool? That said download Jimmy, Sober, and Eulogy. So I guess I should be checking out some of this Tool stuff, seeing as my music taste tallies with QOTSA's (mostly...) and he likes them and stuff...

I have no idea about their music or anything....it's as if they don't exist over here...
And I don't have kazaa...if you want to send it me through msn/aim...well that's another matter.
And what is 'Lateralus' anyway? -

They're metal-ish, but unlike most metal bands today, they don't suck. And you need to get Kazaa Lite or K++. Now. -

I had it before, but my d/l speed sucks and it kept saying 'more sources needed' and crashing. -

I forgot Jimmy Hendrix, they had tons of (good) hits. Led Zeppelin should be on everybody's list, though, considering they were only around for ten years and had a ton of great hits (more than two per album). And personally, I think that DMB is the best "pop" (I guess you can say that, though they were played on the same radio station that Tool was ) band around, considering their talent, amount of hits, and time they've been around.
Then the other three, there's just too much talent there. um, wow. 3 of the best drummers, ever, just erm.... drools. -

Rammstein!Heres my list (In some cases it was hard to pick just one, so I picked two!):
1. Rammstein- Addicting almost techno like beats and belching german vocals, make this band awesome (Favorite Song: "Spiel Mit Mir")
2. KMFDM- An awesome mixture of techno and Industrial. (Favorite Songs: "Like a Prayer" and "The Mortal Kombat Theme Song".)
3. System of A down- Their strange music fits my strange tastes. (Favorite Song: "Darts")
4. Celldweller- a lesser known industrial band that knows just the right way to mix Industrial and Rave. (Favorite Song: "Stay with Me")
5. The Jimmi Hendrix Experience- (Jimmi Hendrix is one of the greatest innovators of modern rock. How can you not like Jimmi Hendrix?) (Favorite Songs- "Hey Joe" and "If Six was Nine")
And the rest (in no particular order)......80's Metallica, Pantera, Anthrax, Megadeth, and Rancid

KMFDM!

2. Trapt (basically all of their stuff but These Walls is my fav.)
3. Evanescence (all of it Tourniquet is my favorite)
4. Chevelle (Send the pain below, the red, comfortable liar, mia)
5. System of a Down/12stones (all of it)
