This park is influenced by the Art Deco architecture of the South Beach area of Miami Florida. Here are a couple of screens of the hotel. It was made using Toon's 1/4 blocks and some of the items in Cougars glass pack. Took over ten hours to build. Let me know what you think.

    Looks brilliant...
But i tend to be more interested in the rides and the park itself and not extras such as hotels and parking lots.
Lets hope the rest of the park is at this standard

Excellent work rog, Very impressive for only 10 hours of work. That would take me much longer than 10 hours due to the detail you put into it.

Rog, those yellow art deco accents are fantastic. You've really captured something here! Hope the rest of the park can live up to this beginning.

I can understand tha tyou probably won't make any drastic changes since it took you ten hours, but I don't like it. Sure it has lots of detail and is big and took a while, but I think that it looks plain stupid. Also, the steel fence and all the yellow completely ruin it IMO.

But that roman fence thing is tight. :)

How do you get the vision to make something like this? It's damn cool - I like those three yellow columns that go up the side and the glass-windowed lobby.

Shame you've given it away though ;)

Nice one roger. and bad luck with the vp, the auckland sky tower should have beaten wizards of shit on its own. and this park is looking just as good. i've only ever seen two people who can do good tall buildings - you and cbass. i'm sure there are others but it's something i couldn't do.

Yup. Very, very good. Try replacing the yellow though. Love what it does but i think blue or teal or blood red would work better, just re-color the stuff, don't distroy it, after all, it's excellent.

Rog, I recommomend you check out Fisherman's objects... namely his 1/2 tile balcony objects. I think you'd have much use for them, especially with a hotel like this.

[$$$]Anyway, the hotel looks marvelous, just marvelous.[/$$$]

TONS of detail... which I just love. Especially the outside fence, kind of Reminiscence of Ceasers Palace in Vegas.

My only complain is how the the pool/waterfall is at the edge of the map. But from the looks of it you're out of the SE. Meh.

But yes, do keep up the grand work ya got going on so far with this one, it's definately the best work I've ever seen from you.

    :yup:

The colour police have spoken. However, considering how prevalent the colour yellow was in the art deco movement and the fact that I love it, don't you dare change the colour (like you would have anyways).

Nice to see I have a fellow member working for the cause...

PS the yellow is fantastic ;)

Thanks for the feedback, it's much appreciated. I should have come here sooner. Here's a pic of the building that inspired the hotel.

Here is a pic of what I'm working on now. Just want to know if everyone thinks I'm on the right track for the deco look. Probably won't be showing a whole lot more, don't want to give too much away.

How is it that I haven't seen this topic until now? Now I'm just going to have to sing your praises like everyone else here already has. Really great visionary work. I'm glad there are people out there producing work like this. I look forward to seeing more.

Yes, like ToonTowner said- you've really captured the art deco style of South Beach.

Also congratulations for making those ugly paths look nice.

    Yea.....funny about the color police...

    This is South Beach, yes?

Not that I've been, but it is quite colorful down there, right?

    Roger...looking brilliant as always.

You got the shaft with the VP thing for Tunnel, but maybe NE will get to see the talent you have?

You're still the most under-rated designer in my book, keep up the good work, and that new screen is lovely!

I love those little patterns around the walls of the buildings :) Like those little coloured squares.

    I'd love to go there.
