Is there a way to repair a scratched cd without having to buy a kit. Someone suggested using Pledge, another suggestion was a rubbing compound. I already cleaned it with Windex. Thanks in advance.

Don't use Oxyclean. That shit eats the fuck out of your CDs.

My sister-in-law was midfuckingly stupid enough to do it to her son's entire Playstation library. 250 dollars in games that won't work now. It's fucking hilariously ironic.

Get the Disc Dr. it works great.

Well, so I've heard the price of fourty dollars is worth it for how many CDs it will fix.

Or you could..... get a bootlegged version....or...burn a new copy. Hail Kazaa.

But CD Cleaners, can't help you there.

Why did you use Windex on your CDs? That is most certainly a no-no. I really wish CDs still came with the care instructions they used to...

In storing and handling the Compact Disc, you should apply the same care as with conventional records. No further cleaning will be necessary if the Compact Disc is always held by the edges and is replaced in its case directly after playing.

Should the Compact Disc become soiled by fingerprints, dust or dirt, it can be wiped - always in a straight line, from the centre to edge - with a clean, lint-free, soft and dry cloth.

No solvent or abrasive cleaner should ever be used on the disc.

...now, with that said: why do need to "repair" your CD, exactly? If its because of a scratch, the problem may just be with the player (some players are really picky, others go right through a scratch without a problem at all).

But, toothpaste works - as was stated earlier.

    Someone explain this toothpaste business...

It's this gukky stuff that comes in a tube. You use it on a toothbrush to brush your teeth. That makes your teeth clean and healthy, and all that other good shit. Then you can go to the dentist, and he'll say "Nice teeth," and give you a sticker.
