You actually rarely need the SOB now. 8 cars has two options for zeroing clearances (the absolute option is the way to go), so SOB is only needed for very specific hacks.Go Here and DL the 8 cars trianer and you can restore clearance in RCT2 after hacking with the SOB trianer. and it works well i have used it many times without a problem in Tiumba TLI.

On mine there is no restore clearances, no zero clearances -

...on mine, the restore all clearances is greyed out...
As for the last screen, I'm still undecided on the colours. They don't flow well together... -

That's awesome! I see where the Zero All Clearances is coming into play. I like to do that a lot in RCT1 parks. Very subtle.
That architecture (dammit, Pym) is amazing. I love it. The custom scenery plays quite a role here. The green building is wonderful.

Okay.
I like the green building alot.. especially those curved walls you have there. Nice, discrete hacks. That's the way hacks should be, they shouldnt stand out, or be a feature, as much as they should accent an area.
Are those new arches? You have to hook it up..
The building to the right has a very nice oriental feel to it. What theme are you going for in this area overall? What will the themes be for the whole park? Wheres the official press release thread? -

I don't like the new screen... It's ugly imo actually... Nothing catches my eye and the tree selection sucks.

In reponse to the theme of the Port of Entry.
Let's just say I'm going for a colourful, multicultural mish-mash of architectural styles. Imagine you're standing in the middle and look around to see influences of the orient, arabia, meditteranean, polynesian, etc. Without anyone theme dominating. I want to grab the international flavour and merge it together without anything dominating too much. I know two buildings aren't enough to really capture this, but it should give the idea of what the area will be like.
As for other areas SA, I'm going to put my spin on the basic areas at IOA. This includes Suess Landing, Marvel Super-Hero Island, Toon Lagoon, Jurassic Park and Lost Continent. I will however be adding one yet to be announced additional area to the park. -

Not bad, but I like the first pic a lot better. It is something about the wooden rooves on that far right bldg, they just don't look right.
The green bldg looks pretty cool though.
BTW.....who hates it when I use the abbrevation "bldg", I can't remember but someone does. -
sacoasterfreak Offline
Hello.
Mick, I'm afriad you're going to have to come with me.
Your use of the abbreviation "bldg" is against section 9.1, article 2 of the widely accepted Internet Lingo Use Laws, and as an officer of the Elite Internet Lingo Police Force, I am going to have to apprehend you. Luckily for you, "bldg" is only a class c misdemeanor, and your posting priveledges should be resorted within 24 to 48 hours of posting bond.
If you had chosen to use the word "archy," in that situation, I'm afraid things would be much worse for you, but you got lucky. I'm sorry it has to be this way. I answer to one, and that is the leader of the Elite Internet Lingo Police Force, Joe Holland. We have been employed at this website with a goal in mind, and that is to rid these otherwise perfect forums of scum like you who consistently mutilate the english language.
Not too far in the future, we will be implementing a PreCrime unit here at New Element, to prevent mal-usage of grammar and spelling before the infraction occurs. This is only the next step in a totalitarianist attempt to keep the boards squeaky clean. Hopefully you people will calm down and lay off of the abbreviations. Can't you see its bad for you?
Resistance is futile. -

Marvel Superhero Island, eh? I can't wait to see that one. Hell, you could be making a park themed to Hamtaro and friends and it would look good, but you had to pick IOA, the single most versatile theme park 'genre' available to build upon in RCT/2.
This is shaping up to be great, and I doubt it's even 5% complete. When you release this park, the bomb will drop. It looks like it has that special touch that you cant reproduce no matter how much you try, the epiphany thing that Corky and Fatha were educating me about.
I apologize for polluting your thread with my senseless bullshit. Excuse me. -
Corkscrewed Offline
For the record, I came up with the term "RCT Epiphany."
Anyway, the last screen I'm not liking as much, and I think it's because the styles are a bit too varied. I know what you're trying to get at, but that sort of effect is ridiculously hard to pull off. I would try to put in mixed styles within each building, just to see if that can work. The green doesn't work for me as much because it looks a bit plain, and the whole atmosphere doesn't appeal to me as much.
Admittedly, though, this is more of a style preference and less a comment on the overall skill of the Port of Entry. Mainly, I just think it's hard to mix Asian and European styles together well. -

This is coming along very nicely. I have not been a big fan of this style of park making. But what's not to love about this park? -

The green building is absolutely amazing, although I'm not completely sold on the pinky red one. Hopefully that will be improved.
Also, that log structure looks very interesting on the left side of the screen. I can see where hacks have come into play there.
Overall a really nice screen. Keep us wanting more! -

2. "And one more thing.... if ALL you have to say about something is 'good job' or 'looks nice' - don't even bother posting."
Back on topic....
Toon, this is awesome - the custom scenery as much as the park. The lighthouse and surrounding area is the best screen you've posted so far, imo. I agree with Corkscrewed, though - the last screen isn't the same with so many constrasting styles.
