Three pages of replies though...... just for one tiny screen.......? Most people can only dream of that. I guess everyone is just so interested in a Toon solo, and I must admit, I am quite interested as well.



Anyway, the lighthouse looks cool. Great scenary and everything, ect. Were you going to put anything on those rocks though.....? A few small clumps of trees and shrubs would look nice I think. If you WERE going to put something on them though, well, just ignore me.



Great job. I only wish that I could do what you do in RCT2............ maybe thats a matter of styles though.

I think that lighthouse is ugly as all fuck...but it does keep the Port of Entry feel that the other IOA has, so I guess it's all good so far. Now post another screen before all hell breaks loose in here, Toonie.

I'm stunned by how much response a screen of one incomplete building is getting. I was just launching the idea as much as anything and trying to give a glimpse of how the park will be built. I'm happy with where the lighthouse is at now, but in no way did I expect this. I guess I've hit the bigtime then. I'll bust my ass and try to get something in the port of entry completed so I can show a screen that will give a little more idea of landscaping, atmosphere, building style and layout. Rides will not come till much later tho.

Watch for something by the end of the week-end.

Based on what I've seen you do, I would suggest building most of the park in the SE.....

That is because you have no imagination.


The bldg. is a better bldg. than you could possible dream to build. It has all of the right composition to make it very nice to look at with all of the detail. What is there not to like??

You have to understand what he is trying to convey in the screen with the topic of the park. Some people get it while others will struggle, we don't blame you

While the custom scenery is great, the form of the building isnt that great, but its excusable as it's such a specific building.

But the custom scenery is part of the architecture and was designed specifically for the building....so it's really not fair to take it away and say the form of the building is lacking.

That said, it is just one building and it has already been improved and changed. I'm still happy with all the response.

Well I personally only show completed screens. You show what you want though Toon. You do, after all, have people kissing your shoes. And kissing other things. They love ya, bud.

I can't speak for anyone else but what I'm excited about is the potential of this park, not really the actual screen. We know what Toon is capable in terms of custom scenery and the screen shows me that he has a lot of tricks up his sleeve that he'll be using on this park. Plus, I know what sacf was hinting at and I'm excited about that as well 

thats where i'm coming from.

Incidently i love the lighthouse - has that nice "ancient", old school, egyptian/ somthing else (can't quite place it) feel...


And rocks are good.

Nice scenery.

- Lighthouse needs to be taller.. possibly twice as tall, but probably more like 1.7 times as tall.
- You need to make the forums more obtuse. Don't make it sort of curve in and all, give it some corners.
- We need fire in the tower. At almost the top, create openings and show fire through them.
- Add some nice tropical landscaping around the tower. Shrubs and bushes will make this screens look SOOOOOO much more amazing.

Corky, those are comments I appreciate! Some of those changes were already made, but I really appreciate the constructive comments. Anyway, I have a little more done so here's a new pic:



I promise I won't be showing updates of every little thing I do on the park, but this is just to give an idea of where the park is going as the first pic really didn't show much. The next pics will probably come once I have the port of entry complete. I've been working on some custom scenery ideas for the port of entry as I really want to give it a bright international feel and there are a few pieces I need to get it right. I have most of the stuff I need done now, so am going to start a few buildings in behind the entrance area today. Please keep in mind that this in not a recreation as I know the entrance doesn't have the same feel as IOA. It is an adaptation based on the IOA model.

I think this screen shows something that I haven't seen in RCT or RCT2. Very unique and really captures the theme.

Although, it feels very light on plants, maybe a "tad" more can help bring out some color?

Now that I like. Excellent work. Though I still think you should add a medieval style arch window near the bottom, it's an improvement. And maybe a deep scarlet would be a better option than that light blue, but this is really good.
