(Archive) Advertising District / Park Project

Sorry for the lack of updates. Here is the reason.

I'm just here to say that I will be taking a small break from RCT2 for personal reasons. I might start playing again sometime in september. I have way to many thing to take care of right now besides my parks. I also have lost inspiration and am out of ideas to do anything. By the time I come back to the game, I will hopefully have fresh new ideas to use. I will still be lurking around in the forums to see what is going on in this crazy place that I love to visit. See ya around in the forums.

I'm a little hesitant on showing these screens but whatever. Even though I said I was taking a little break, some parks have really inspired me to work on this park again. I also found some time and new methods, so I got to work.

Short break huh

Anyways, I have been working on a splash boats ride and it is coming along well.
I was having trouble with landscaping also. Everything in this park WAS flat land.
I decided to try something new and give this park more of a landscape to make it seem more interestin. Of course, this water ride will be themed around a huge palace.
Just in case you are wondering, this palace takes up about half of the park total.
The screens I am about to show you are INCOMPLETE and I am still working hard on this ride. I want to know what you think before I finish so I can touch up some things.

And that takes alot anymore. How big is this park? If it's large (like 120X120 or bigger) then i'd suggest entering it in the spotlight. You may just get a runner-up! Sweet, sweet stuff man. Those last four.... God help me.

One thing though. If those screens are complete there are open spaces. Just making sure you knew that. If you fill those with Jagged Rocks, vegitation, themed objects or something it would really help make it even better.

im gonna give u points for creativity on this one. you have used the TT 1/4 blocks better than almsot evryone out there. very very creative. even thought he finla effect doesnt look 10/10 its very cool

I think the park is about 180x180 and yes, the screens are INCOMPLETE. That is why I wasn't sure about posting them. The finished product should look a lot better. I was thinking about sending it to NE for runner up or something, but I don't think it is good enough. I'll keep trying though.

This is one of my favourite rct2 parks on these forums at the moment! I really really like it! The colours are really cool, the curviness of the buildings really works well and you've got the water tool down well.

I'm torn. Some of the things you've done with the quarter blocks look really neat and well planned, while others look like you just threw a bunch of scenery pieces together without really planning anything. I don't mind chaotic architecture, but it has to at least look like controlled chaos.

I got a pic on the park. It is an overview to show you how it is coming along. I figure it wouldn't be to bad because it shouldn't give to much away. A lot of things aren't done hopefully you should see that. Here ya go. Tell me what you think so I can make later improvements.


Overview

This will probably be the last update for a while. I will be busy with school and will be working on some RCTX projects. Maybe expect something around early/mid october

In my own opinion, I think the screen looks bad. I'll probably redo it but I'll wait to hear what you guys think.

It's not that bad... the arch standing on it's own looks bad and I think it's lacking an extra colour or something, but apart from that it could be good.

I still like it. You can do no wrong! The buildings in this park are so fantastical yet I can still imagine myself walking through them and going "woah!"
