Very nice. I love the little aquaduct things and the arches. That true history of atlantis thing was quite interesting.

    An RCT Epiphany is simple.
It's a period of time where you are elevated from your normal RCT skills (Its like you become super parkmaker instead of parkmaker) and your parks turn out rather phenomenal. I have had a few in my time, but they are rare.

I had one while making Thebes in TH, and I had two while making Ports of Call (But the results did not come out as good theming, but good rides).

I think that Im about to have another one...

I've always thought the park was okay, not amazing, BUT, that last screen is INCREDIBLE! Just beautiful!

Constructive Criticism is welcome. I started working on this last night, and it's all somewhat of a 'rough draft' of the theme.

I hope you like it, if you don't, tell me what you dont like. I have never tried anything like this before.

All comments are welcome, especially constructive criticism.

    Thank you for your time.

    Peace.

I've had one RCT epiphany. Can't remember when it was or what it was for, but it was amazing enough for me to know it happened.

Those rooves are fucking. Forgot the adjective.

Put some weeds on those rocks, ditch the eucalyptus trees (i'm all for mixing trees with themes, but sometimes location DOES matter...) and decide whether you're gonna have those rope fences on almost every roof or just that light green one there (it looks too...impulsive...to have it on just one).

    I like it, though.

    Rock on UK dating.

I must say, i'm a bit dissapointed with the last screen. I know you're just playing around with the theme, and i can appreciate that it's kinda hard to build this theme with no previous work to go on by other people, but it just looks like a completely different game than the last screen.

I don't like the rooves, and i think sticking with just the RCT2 roofing options will help a lot to restore a sense of atmosphere.

    That lastest screen is kick-ass.

It's probably the best screen I've seen of this so far (in my opinion).

The whole park is brilliant, in the top foives of my favorites in developement so far.

I actually like the roofs. I think the medieval/asian/western/fusion thing really works. What kind of area is this supposed to be (are there rides or stalls in those buildings?)Also, I'm not keen on the two different shades of green on the roofs. Maybe just one shade or maybe the two lighter ones that are more similar? Anyway, looking good so far...Also, lose the rope fences on the roofs, I think it looks forced.

    Cheers. :)

I dont like it much, its a bit messy, but i suppose that theme is kinda messy anyway.
  • sacoasterfreak%s's Photo
It may look messy. But whoever said an Asian marketplace was clean and organized? I am striving for realism, and I am working off photographs of the city that I am attempting to theme. I am going for a southwestern Asian theme, attempting for the first time to theme Lhasa, Tibet.

I have taken your advice, Mantis, and also I have considered what you guys have said about the color. This will most likely change before being finished, but I kind of like it how it is.. .

I really like it. WHat you were building before was all very pleasant but it didn't really have a lot of personality. Yeah that term doesn't make a lot of sense in this context. Basically what I mean is that the skills are all there (of course they are, you're frickin SACF) but I didn't feel like the sections themselves did anything particularly new. This last screen I really like because it's more daring and more interesting. When I picture an Asian marketplace I see a very cluttered section with lots of colors and tall buildings crowding each other. I think you could even take this theme further by crowding in some more buildings on the other side of the walkway. I've been planning to do a Tibet theme in RCT2 for awhile and while I'm a little disappointed somebody is doing it first, I'm definately excited to see how your theme turns out. I like the colors the way they are. The pathway leading up to the red roofed building is the only thing I would suggest changing because it seems kinda plain and out of place to me. I'd say keep the first floor open and then just throw up a ladder to get to the second story. Sure peeps won't be able to use it but that isn't important.

I like it alot. I dislike the rope fences though. But that's not a big problem. I really really like it. Keep it up. Not everyone can agree on everything.

    :OMG:

I really like that chinese themeing, looks pretty nice. :)

    Good job.

I really like it. I think the rooves work great here actually. The messy cluttered feeling of the marketplace is very evident, but the positioning of the junk is still well thought out. I'm with Ed in feeling that more cluttered may actually be better. I'm sure the finished product will be better, but it's an incredible start!

As for RCT epiphanies, I think quarter tile architecture in RCT2 is my personal favourite. I don't know if I've had any others yet...

very nice park so far! aww it's WW looks like i'll have to wait till i get WW to download it when it is finished :(. but i should have WW by then ;)
  • Toon%s's Photo
    It's not WW.
  • Tech Artist%s's Photo
oh ok. then where did you get those asain rooves? they look like ww asain rooves.
  • Corkscrewed%s's Photo
He probably imported them as custom scenery.

So much for you keeping your theme secret, Chris.

The roofs do look really WW'ish though. Right now, it doesn't look too impressive, just really solid. However, I have a feeling that this type of theming really has to be complete before it looks *OMG* socks off amazing.

And as for an RCT epiphany, well, maybe I'll post another topic in this.
In short, an RCT Epiphany is a moment where your RCT parkmaking quality suddenly goes up, and everything you start making just is awesome. It's a rise in your level of parkmaking. Rather than slowly get better, you just "click" and improve your skills tremendously in a short amount of time.

They are not necessarily common, and chances are that no one has had more than a few. ;)
  • sacoasterfreak%s's Photo
What can I say, I am keeping the other area secret. This one deserves to be shared. I wont be revealing the rides in this section though, and it may not be quite what you expect.

    Bwahahahahah...
