RCT Discussion / View what's inside a "Group dat files"

Is there a way to view what is inside of the group dat files?

I've tried using  RCT2 Content Browser, but i just get the main file info, and not individual file to view..   I do get a list of dat files , but no picture of what it is...

Basically I want to view each file that's in the Group.   any suggestions, if this makes sense to anyone.

I don't know if this is the best option or not but I'd probably just load the scenery group in game and look at the objects in it

thank you for your reply, thought of that, but was wondering if there was a easier way, or a tool/program that would do it.  I have accumulated tons of groups and really dont wanna load them one by one to see whats inside of them.

Hey, that's my old Indonesian scenery group :D

If you're using Open RCT2 it would be easiest to just load them with the Object Selection menu in-game (like barnNID suggested), but if you're using regular RCT2 that would be a lot more tedious. I'm not sure those old programs could load in pictures of the objects inside. I know Datmaker can load in old .dat scenery groups (where you can see which .dats are inside), but it doesn't load the pictures of the objects in it..

I'd say RCT DATchecker? You can download that program here on the site under 'Game utilities'.

I'll try those programs, using good old RCT2 on cd's, not OpenRct2.
