2024 In Conclusion

New Element's 2024 has been nothing short of brilliant - soon after alex's end-of-year stunner Age of Sail, Andrew released his first true solo and cemented a new legacy with Belle Isle, bagging a Spotlight with a crazy 97.50% score and redefining the realism genre. The same month saw Ottersalad release his expansive Magic Kingdom map, a re-interpretation of the park in his own vision and earning Otter parkmaker status and the year's second Spotlight. Not long after, Jene followed with Porto Encanto, a center-lake map in grand NE tradition that traded familiar tropes for fresh takes on its numerous themes and earned him his first Spotlight and a Parkmaker position. All the while the community waited with baited breath for a new contest, and sure enough Head-2-Head X was revealed in March and dominated the summer with a new high bar set for H2H maps. In the end the Jazzcats captained by WhosLeon lifted the trophy after defeating Scoop's Soda Jerks in a nail-biting final matchup.

Lake of Lost Worlds

FredD is an established name at NE, and earned his Parkmaker stripes a little over four years ago with his ode to German charm, Erlebnispark Ochsenbach. Since then he has produced a quiet crop of contest parks through Head-2-Head and Grand Tour, but in the background has been diligintly chipping away at a new solo project that takes NE's traditional center-lake motif and slips in a novel twist by making the central body of water the gateway to a network of lost civilizations. The aptly named Lake of Lost Worlds is Fred's most ambitious project to date and serves atmosphere in abundance, so be sure to catch the next boat out for this one!

 

NE Awards 2024

New Element Solo Tracker

Last but not least, a new page has been created to officialise the Solo Tracker spreadsheet created by JK recently. This page will serve as a one-stop location to see the progress of all of the upcoming full-scale solo projects by your favourite builders! We aim to keep the tracker up to date with all of the community's projects, and hope to bring more light to the large scale efforts that have defined New Element for decades. Old Releases Overview

Sometimes, parks are in the database without having a savegame attached. Sometimes, parks should be in the database because they had an official release at some point, but aren't. With thanks to Liampie's dedicated archival efforts, we regularly add such parks again for the sake of having a rich and complete database of parks.

 

Since a few years ago, we've had the ambition to complete all the pre-NE4 parkmaker pages. Many of the parks that were downloadable on the parkmaker pages, never made it to the NE database, which we are now slowly correcting. Similarly, some parkmakers were added and then purged again in the early days of NE, or their parkmaker status was never updated on the site, which we are also correcting.

 

Since the last news flash, the parkmaker pages of RRP and jhoffa (also known as kiddo) have been completed. Kiddo may not be listed on our Parkmakers section, but behind the scenes, a parkmaker page existed.
