(Archive) Advertising District / Highview Woods

Now that I have finally found a way to post my pictures directly into the topic I will tell you about my first RCT park. The name has finally been chosen...introducing Highview Woods. As the name suggests, the theme of the park (if it has a theme at all) is woods. The park is home to three coasters...two yet to be named. The only named coaster is called The Lumberjack.



The Lumberjack takes the riders on a fast paced trek through the woods surrounding it. The lift hill leads into a spiraling turn toward the ground and into a cobra roll and then into a barrel roll-halfloop combination over that same cobra roll. The ride is completed with a few hills and a couple helixes.

The rest of the park is full of other exciting rides. Visitors may enjoy a ride on Thunder Road(go-karts), the Thrash 'n Crash(bumper cars), or The Windmill(Enterprise).



I am very pleased with how this park turned out, especially being that it is my first. I know its nothing spectacular or new but I hopwe you still enjoy it. The release date is August 1.

This really does look like a great debut park. The buildings are simple but pretty and the coaster looks crazy without being too awkward.

I'm going to scotland for a couple of days, but when I get back i'll download this and comment on it.

Plus (to any other mods reading) can you pin this when it's released?

Wow it looks look a good old fashioned traditional park with an insane coaster. This could be interesting and it sounds like I won't have to wait long to see it either. You deserve a round of applause for that.

Err... its ok for a first park but I don't like it. It's real blank. Boring and I don't know what else. That coaster is too well crazy.

It's not bad for a first park, it reminds me of X's Sunshine Gardens, his first park, and see how big he now is. However at some points I find it rather plain and somewhat boring. I'll use your 2nd pic to illustrate what I mean:

In the right upper corner the two trees look ugly. Replace them with either flower arrangements, or add some bushes like you did below the topspin. In the same corner I also dislike the fact that you can see supports below the patchs (roofs?). You can put skilift track below it should you really want to keep them.

In the other pics there are similar things. Take a look at it, or atleast keep it in mind when you build a next park.

A have a question for anybody who reads this. From what you can see should I send this in to NE Spotlight or should I go ahead and release it tomorrow. Tell me what you think.

I'd send it in for Spotlight. I wouldn't say it would win, but it would probably/most likely get a Runner-Up spot...

Get a runner-up for God sakes, its your first park, feal good about it.

The park is great! I'm really fond of this style of park and if you pull it off right (which you have) it makes a killer park.

Send the park in for Spotlight and get a runnerup, it's a great way to put your name on the board here at NewElement.

Looks cool. Very nice old style RCT park, nice and realistic. You could make a splash in Park Wars with this style.
