RCT Discussion / Object Editor

Before I went ahead and downloaded Object Editor,  I wanted to know if it gets downloaded as a separate program or does it go into your RCT2 Folder? Call me cautious, but I just wanted to make sure what I was doing wouldn't crash the game in any way. I play through Steam. Thanks

It's entirely separate, it doesn't matter where you save it! You don't even need RCT to make objects - only to test and use them of course.

Be warned: be sure to use unique names for your objects so they do not match any existing objects, this can cause real trouble when you distribute them. The same goes for distributing unfinished objects. You cannot update them later.

Liampie, Thanks for the heads-up on the names.  Is there an Undo/Redo button for mistakes or just the eraser tool?

Nope. Another reason to be careful

I always edit my objects in paint, and then I paste them into the editor.

I wish there was a video on that. As for editing more than one object at a time, is there a way to do that?

So if I built a food/drink stall with three plain wall-say WALLBR32 - then an opening for the front and a roof, can I do that, or is it just one object at a time?

I mean, the object editor allows for only one object to be opened and edited at the same time. However, you can have multiple instances of the editor open as a workaround - and if you make your objects in paint, you can edit a bunch of shit at the same time as well. Join our Discord for live feedback! May be easier? :)

Is it possible to flip/rotate objects in the Object editor? So If I wanted to take 1KHALFSB, for example, and flip it so the rounded edge was on the bottom instead of on top, is that at all possible?

I think so! Right click on a sprite gives you options to mirror. But again I recommend paint!

Beware though that if you flip a block upside down, it will literally look like the same block but drawn upside down. It doesn't flip the actual shape of the block; it won't look right.
