2023 was a year of spectacular highs for NE, featuring 4 spotlights alongside a full Micro Madness and Grand Tour, collectively producing a wealth of parks, designs and micros. Now comes the time to honour the best parks and players of a very competitive year with the NE Awards!
The nominee selection has been organised by the Admin team with help from Jappy and J K. The nominees span 18 award categories, reduced from previous years in an effort to cut back the time and effort both for us organizing and for you voting.
Unsurprisingly, Age of Sail comes away with the most nominations for a single park at 8 in total, while J K is the most prolific nominee with 13 nominations across various categories.
1 The poll will stay open for a little over a week. We will close the poll some time before the ceremony to prepare results, so don't take much longer to vote than
210th February .This year's ceremony will take place on
11th February . It will be held in NE's Discord, hosted by Jappy, J K, Liampie & Xtreme97.Award Categories 2023

Big year for the community and a fun year as well! Two big competitions brought us some truly memorable RCT and to top that off we had four spotlights!

Don't forget to vote, guys! A few categories are landslide victories, others are currently tied for 1st or so close they can still shift in a meaningful way. Don't forget to vote!

At the end, A N D R E W followed up his Best Screenshot award with the release of Belle Isle, providing the community with the first frontrunner for receiving a few 2024 NE Awards, for which a seperate channel has been started on the NE Discord - there you can add your nominations in the upcoming year.
*A short note regarding the Best Breakthrough category: some players were surprised to find a few names missing here. It is arbitrary to decide when a player has 'broken through', but if you find a name missing here, chances are they were considered in the Best Non-NE Parkmaker category. MorganFan and RobDedede are examples of such players who in the eyes of the awards committee had already graduated from the 'breakthrough' group of players. It must also be noted that due to an oversight, the best Non-NE Parkmaker category only had five nominees whereas six is the usual number. Though it is doubtful that anyone would've beat RWE and Terry Inferno here, RobDedede would've been the sixth nominee based on our behind the scenes nomination procedure!

What a fantastic fantastic year. Two incredible contests (including my personal favorite) and some beautiful releases outside of that. Also can't sleep on the community with both returning faces and exciting newcomers keeping things fresh. If the collective rumors are true for 2024 I think this year might top the last.
Mainly commenting to thank y'all for the shoutout to Rob and Morgan. I'm biased because they're my RCTClub buddies, but I also feel like because they're relatively quiet and mild-mannered and just put their heads down and build they kinda get pushed under the radar. Rob was a machine last year and Gale of Amun-Ra is a wonderful design from Morgan that deserves a lot more respect. Knowing that both were in contention for best non-parkmaker is a hell of a compliment considering the confusion around their omission from the best breakthrough category. Had it been the other way I would have vouched for either of them to snatch that title from me.

Congratulations to everyone on their well-deserved wins. What a great year it was for the site and for the game. No surprise to see certain sweeps due to such pristine quality shown in the work of 2023 and the players' dedication to their craft. Some of these categories were indeed very difficult to narrow down to just one vote, so there were some cases where multiple votes in a single category were warranted.
I apologize for my vain null votes in the "best breakthrough" and "best steel coaster" categories. I was not aware of the backstage considerations that had taken place, nor of the way the decisions for award nominations are made. Further, my mental state has been greatly suffering and I allowed spiteful feelings to get the best of me when I cast my votes, and for that I am ashamed. Gustav absolutely earned his breakthrough in 2023 and therefore completely deserves the award. We have also seen our fair share of breakthroughs in building mechanics, which makes the prospects of new work in 2024 all the more exciting.
I am hopeful to earn a spot in these awards next year by putting in work in 2024, but I have stalled out on my current projects due to my mental health. This is also partly why my presence has been missing from the community lately. I hope to overcome these troubles and rejoin when I am ready, optimistically in time for the next big contest, which I hear will be quite big and important!
I am also quite proud of myself for my contributions in 2023, which amounted to my most productive year in RCT ever - from winning my first ever round in Micro Madness, to collaborating with Otter on one of my favorite projects to date, to leveling up my skill with CSO in a design that won an RCTClub contest and turned heads in the NE community as well. I do not intend to fade away so quickly after such a good year! Much gratitude to everyone who made 2023 great.
Congrats and thank you to everyone for their work! My favorites of the past year include but are not limited to:
-Salinity
-San Avaiki
-Akuma no Uta
-Amras Telrunya
-Ethiopia Action Park
-Lady Gaga at Wrigley Field 2023
-Raptor Run-Adriatic Adventures
-Blackpool Reimagined
-A Taste of Tuscany-Yirgacheffe
-Daytona 5000
-80s Anemoia
-DTLA

Congrats to all the winners, it was a great year for rct once again. Ofc also made possible by the GT contest we had. All nominated parks/members could as well be a winner, quality was that high.

What a year, I realize that my favorite parks are all from different contests, special mention for the MM23!
I'm so disappointed by the low vote on Bawar Babi for the landscape/foliage category, Jens J totally deserves it but I was hoping for a closer vote. This leaves me baffled.

Just watched the awards, and it was a superb production as always!
It is an honor to not only finally win the Best Non-Parkmaker award but also to share it with such a talented fellow builder whom I've known since the Tycoon Paradise days and is one of the guys with whom I got to build my first H2H park. It's amazing to see how we've grown as builders over the years and also how 2023 has been such a transformative year for realizing our artistic visions into RCT2.
A special congratulations to you, RWE! May 2023 be our final year of eligibility in this category.

best wooden coaster?! i'll take it, great work Liam (98% his stuff). feel bad for alex, felt like Cutlass was a great coaster (reminded me of Rampage by RRP for some reason). sure he's not feeling too bad about it based on all the other awards
congrats everyone, great to see some winners take deserved victories. special congrats to Terry and RWE for best non-parkmaker.
