Merry Christmas all! It's been quite a year - two brilliant contests in Micro Madness and Grand Tour that produced some of the boldest parkmaking and brightest ideas NE has seen of late, and a string of Spotlights that have solidified J K, Jappy and BelgianGuy as NE mainstays. But there's still some juice left in the year and it seems Santa has hidden a couple of presents under the Lombardy Poplar tree...

After 7 exciting months traversing the globe, the last stop on The Grand Tour 2023 has concluded and we can crown a winner! The final matchup has been one to remember with a spectacular set of parks that tap into the uniqueness of their countries and perfectly capture the styles of their creators. A few years ago alex changed the game with a landmark release, Ancient Worlds - an NCSO map crafted with expert composition, atmosphere, and technique that became an instant classic. Today he continues to push the boundaries of what the base game scenery can do (with the help of OpenRCT2) with his latest release, Age of Sail. I'll let the park do the talking, but suffice to say alex has once again reminded us all why his name is etched in indigo.
