I am building at a fast rate at the moment, so there are loads of new screenshots at the link below. Including pics of Tropicano Falls. My skills seem to be getting better as I go along as my new areas Chanty town and Old town are better than the others. Many changes have been made throughout the park, but I have only currently updated the chanty town pictures at the link below. Look tomorrow for updated pictures of sreed street and Greek Creek. The park is due to be released at the end of August. The park will be complete with hotel and waterpark. I am thinking of butting in a 9 hole par 3 golf course. Tell me if you think thats a good idea. Please keep looking back at this topic as I am changing the areas all the time, thus replacing screenshots. New screenshots will be added aswell (of new areas). I am also thinking of making the park a UNIVERSAL park. If i do I'll perhaps change the name to something that fits better with a UNIVERSAL theme. Tell me what you think about doing that aswell.

Please tell me what you think of the screenshots. Tell me what I can do to make it better and tell me what looks good. I can take critisism.

    Cheers mates

    Screenshots (all new)

This link has all new screenshots that have just been posted 30th July!!! I edited this post to make it more updated!!

like the logo! some of ur buildings clash in colors (i know the french flag is blue and red, but not all their buildings are!!!) and the eiffel tower would be better on the ground. the entrance looks good, tree selection is a bit random tho... it needs more of a tropical feel. and how do you get tropical woods?!!!

The buildings in Chanty Town are very cool (those chinese roofs rock!) and I think the trees and shrubs are very fitting.

The enclosed slide in Olde Town is a great idea, but I think you could do without those very bright tropical trees there...it's an old/mine theme, right? They look a bit out of place to me.

Tropicano Falls is excellent. I really like the layered architecture, and I like the idea of the water-cannons. Also, it's good to see you're not going overboard on the windows.

Looking forward to this :) It'd get a Runner-Up spot if it were my spotlight :)

I like it alot. I would recommend putting some pipes on the rooves with a bus above it to make a fake potted plant. In oriental cove, get rid of the nooses (bottom right of screen). Also, GREAT job on the tropicano rail station. Thats my favorite building i have ever seen in RCT2 or 1!

The topic title that I'm looking at says Universal's Tropicano Woods. If you are talking about Universal as in context to Universal Studios, drop it, if not, drop it anyways it doesn't fit. Stick with the simple, elegant Tropicano Woods. The screens are nice. This park has kinda of a cluttered-ness that makes it look, dare I say, cute. The buildings are not tooo extravegant, and I love the Chinese section. The only problem I really have is that you need to color the ground under the paths. That always adds alot to the park looks wise. Also get rid of those horribly fake lookin palm trees.

The park looks overall okay. The arch is too plain and unattractive and the coasters are only subpar. It could definently be impoved, such as the archy could be less...ummm weird looking and I don't know with the coasters...just don't like them that much.

zues is awsome! great archy too. el spaniour looks so spanishy. can't wait for this park to come out!
  • sloB%s's Photo
looks pretty good. kinda sloppy but its different which is good. one thing i noticed was that really long drop on zeus thats not steep at all. if u think about it woiuld u wanna ride that drop. no. its boring i suggest takin it out
  • manofsteel%s's Photo
when you are going at a speed like the coaster trains on Zues are at that point, I'd love to ride that drop. I think the hill in question is a uphill not a downhill run.

I have started work on the parks hotel - White Tropics Waterpark hotel.

The park will also have a another more extreme waterpark open to park visitors aswell as hotel guests. This will be called - SPLASH ROCKS.

The hotel guests are also welcome to use the golf club (Tropicano Woods Golf Club), next door to the theme park resort. The golf club will be constructed on a different map.

The hotel I'm constructing is clearly the most beautiful area of the park at the moment. I will be posting screenshots of the hotel tommorrow.

I have also decided to get rid of the UNIVERSAL in the parks name,

I don't know about this, I just see a bunch of WW theming put together rather sloppily. Didn't we just see these themes in Euroscape? I won't hold that against you though. Nobody can really claim ownership of a theme unless it's something really eccentric that nobody else would have thought of. There is some evidence of skill in Tropicano Falls but you're headed in the wrong direction with all of those tree covered rocks. Be careful about overusing the rocks, that will get you on my bad list. Your trees are all over the place. You should try to be more consistent with your tree selection and fit the themes. Don't underestimate trees, they're a very important part of every park (except for those without any of course). You had a good color scheme going in the Spanish section but then you ruined it with pirate buildings and too many trees. Try adding in sand or dirt under the pathways and take out those tall trees. I do like the blue in the Greek section, very striking and consistent. You're on to something with Tropicano Falls. That screen looks planned and less cluttered than the rest. Other than that this is first park type stuff. You're taking what's already in the game and scattering it around but you aren't really inventing new themes. Keep working at it though, we were all there once. Hardly anybody gets good over night. If I were you I wouldn't even worry about finishing a full park right now. Concentrate on perfecting the details: consistent tree selection, varied architecture styles, smooth and interesting coaster layouts, color schemes, and precise selection of textures. In my opinion too many people rush to put out parks when they should be concentrating on improving their skills first so that when they do put out a full park all the hard work will be more rewarding. I hope none of this discourages you, I'm just trying to offer you some advice that I wish I had gotten when I was starting out.

Sorry about the lack of paragraphs, I can't seem to fit my thoughts into neat little boxes. Oh yeah, and it's Zeus fellas. :)

Your right this is my first go at a detailed finished theme park resort. I am simply using it as experience and taking the best ideas from the park into my next park. However, the areas i have done have changed alot since those screenshots. I have removed all the trees in the park and replaced them to create a more consistent look. I have also made many more changes to the park as a whole. Eg. sand and dirt under paths (less green overall), Colours in themed areas, and tried to make the whole place less random looking. Ever since i finished oriental cove and began on old town, i seemed to of discovered archy. I think my archy looks a lot less random and more realistic now. I have just finished the parks hotel and mini waterpark. That area is clearly the best archy wise in the park (for realism). The park map is not exactly huge anyway, as it is only 170 x 170, so finishing it is not something I'll rush to do. When I have finished the park I will go back and make alot of changes, so the areas you are seeing are only the early stages screenshots. I will do this as i think I will of got noticebly better by the end.

I also plan to do a themed area which is dark and sort of futuristic looking. (using dark blue walls and grey and black roof's.) I also want the area to contain a lot of trees. The main attraction in this area of the park will be a duelling inverted rollercoaster. I think I am going to call it THE MATRIX - THE RIDE. A battle between the agents (machines) and the humans.

sorry, forgot to mention that i will be replacing ALL the screenshot tommorrow, so check back then.
  • manofsteel%s's Photo
I have changed the park a lot since the old screenshots, so i have replaced them. The changes include removing every tree and replacing them using a more consistent style, changes to buildings, terrain changes, and the edition of white tropics hotel. The park looks much better overall now I think. Please let me know what you think of the changes.

    Cheers mates

    Brand new screenshots !!!

Due to the tree change giving the park a less tropical feel, I might change the name of the park !!

yo man considering everything that ed said, id say this looks a trillion times better personally. I forget a little what the past ones looked like but all i kno is that i didnt really like them and i DO like htis. Its amazing what coastered can do for us nonparkmakers.
  • manofsteel%s's Photo
please give me advice or comments if you look at the pics??

I'm sort of a newbie and I need advice from you experts!!
  • Hevydevy%s's Photo
I like the pics of the park alot, but the ones of the hotel just don't look right to me. It's a little too busy for a hotel. I do like the idea for the lawnchairs though. The river ride is probably my favorite pic of all of them. There's just something about it that appeals to me. The red coaster is dissapointing me. Not only does it have three loops, but the lift is way too big. Tone it down a little, and use diffrent inversions then just loops. Other than that it looks really good.

just thought i'd let you know more screenshots available above tommorrow.
  • mantis%s's Photo
Ed'll be proud when he sees this lol.

The park is busier than ever with theming and architecture, which is great to see. The buildings are well placed and constructed, and above all interesting.

I really like this park - i'll download it for sure and am definitely looking forward to it.

    Well Done!
