I'm very interested in where this is going. What kind of tool do you have in mind?
I started out with the idea of just organizing them in files, zipping them up, and sharing them that way. But that just seems like an object dump. Now that I am getting deep into organizing them, I feel like a "Part's Book Plug In" would be useful (?). One could search objects by maker, material, etc. and potentially add objects to their directory from a global list.
There is the discussion of a new naming convention for objects and I would like to be in line with that. I also want the object makers to be comfortable with this as a secondary distribution spot. So I'll be looking for input and advice once I get into the knots.
To In:Cities - There are some really neat things in there. So much detail and talent - too much to be lost if it doesn't need to be. I'm glad you were able to find some gems!

QUICK UPDATE:
I have finished sorting everything into artist files, broken down by theming types. So if I want all of the walls by AVL, I have them in a single place. Duplicates are filed together with the object I THINK is the original.
I am guessing that anyone with experience who read my over-reaching idea above just laughed it off as the nonsense it is. With the transition to parkobj files, my tools are quickly growing out of date. I am using Trigger's Content Browser and it does not recognize parkobj files. On top of that, there would be maintenance and curation that I would not keep up with.
An idea that I had was to simply set up multiplayer parks with these objects viewable as a sort of object warehouse. In that way, the sharing and curation becomes a community task with one or two moderators to verify additions and make sure objects are in the right park/group.
Any thoughts on this would be welcome.
BONUS: Someone with the moniker of "Tracie" posted this park over on the ORCT2 forums. It is epic! The entire Depot circus collection - all objects and tabs. Tracie is a hero.

I'm still astonished by what you're doing. If you have duplicates from me, then sorry. If you'd like to get rid of them. Then throw out the ones that start with AVL. At some point i decide to start dats with the letters describing the object. For example : AVLcwb became cwb (curved wall brick)and AVL came after or not at all. Or if you're a bit patient. I'll do it myself and update you with it. I want to organize my own dats anyway.
I do also think you took on quite a task, possibly impossible. Just the fact that anybody anywhere can and will create dats.
Still i wish you the best.

possibly impossible.
Might go ahead and set that to "probably" with a strong lean towards "likely."
At the very least, I'm actively collecting, sorting, and cleaning. I can see the evolution of custom scenery through the object names - which, I have to say, most of you creators are really good at giving credit where due. This has made the process a whole lot easier - and it shows a lot of respect for each other. That's just plain cool these days.
It really is trying to herd cats. Just this week I added ~100 new object files, some new, some found. I'll never complete the project, but I'll keep at it. If nothing else, I am quite proud of the "All-Star Workbench" I'm making for myself (Just my personal bench - not really a "thing"). I still suck at building, but I have some super shiny tools!

Probably, likely...You're a funny guy.
Thanks for the kind words regarding the editors and the community. That's most likely apreciated. ;D
Glad to hear you're having fun with it. At least with the object limit being raised enormously, you can have a lot of fun building as diverse as you can. Don't worry about the quality of your work. Practice makes perfect. My first parks where laughable compared to the standards here. And since open rct, that bar is being raised slowly but surely. Also.. you know what they say, The right set of tools is half the job done. (Dutch saying) Het goede gereedschap is het halve werk. Take it easy.

I would love to download your "All Star" bench, if nothing else. I'm always trying to get my hands on more CS!

late to the game but something about your writing is enchanting. I love the kind of admiration you have for the art of benchmaking and object collection. so technical but so important.
