Hi, I've been working on my project, Tropicano Woods for about a fortnight and would like to know what you think about it from looking at the screenshots below. I have been playing RCT for years and am addicted to it, but have only recently looked on the web for other peoples parks. I was surprised to see my parks overshadowed most I came accross, but then I found new element. I was surprised at the level of detail in some of the parks, and decided to have ago at a park of that level. This project will be complete with a readme, and a logo for each of the parks areas (main park logo aswell). There are a couple of screenshots below of the two areas I've nearly finished - Oriental Cove, and Europa.
Europa is split into three main areas.
The Square - assorted buildings themed around different countries surrounding the square.
Greek Creek - An area themed around the fortresses of the Greek Empire. This area has one of the parks two completed coasters - Zues. This coaster was constructed by Intamin, and has an excitement rating of 9.45.
Europa's final area is El Spaniour. An area themed aroung spanish culture, containing two flat rides.
Oriental Cove is partly finished, currently only having the one ride. The ride is a B&M stand up LOOPING coaster. After B&M's poorer efforts at stand up coasters they came up with this design. The design includes a spine corkscrew (named by me) which is said to be an amazing experience. Please look at the screenshots and give me advice or feedback on them. Park constructed using Wacky Worlds - CRAP NAME !!
Wacky Worlds is a rip off yeah, but not for me. I bought it, installed it, then took it back for a cash refund. I can do the thanks to GAME - UK SHOP having a ten day money back gaurantee. Applies if the game is damaged or if you simply don't like it. If you live near a GAME shop do the same, as Wacky Worlds is worth having.
PLEASE TELL ME HOW TO POST SCREENSHOTS !!!

Its actually not that bad. You seem to have a mala-like style, which I have grown to like over time. It looks pretty good if that was the style you were going for...a nice cluttered look.

i think theres too much goin on in these pics. u need to tone it down a bit. like use a more uniform set of colors for each section. try to pick 2,3, or 4 colors and stick to those as welll as the basic browns and blacks and greys. i think that will help make each section look different and better.

i like the buildings and the coasters look good in ur park. but i wud agree it looks quite cluttered, and there are definite colour problems (red vs green?!) could well turn out a good park tho

I think that some of your archy looks really great. The colors need a second look, but that's not a big deal. Also, some of your paths seem a little bit "claustrophobic", just an observation. All in all, this looks very promising.

    Hmmm...

Look promising, very promising. Too bad it's WW though. The Oriental area is very nice. The buildings actually remind me of China, how they're kind of cluddered, and diffrent colors, and styles. The Red Dragon looks quite good, but put something in place of that loop. I hate rollercoasters with two big loops. Cobra rolls I can stand , but not two big loops. The Greek area looks okay, but I haven't seen enough of it to really make a descision on it. The entrance is my favorite pic actually. It's simple and to the point, and looks good. The square is the same way. Although I do think the square is a litle bit cluttered, but hey, it's a square.

Go through the same link above, and you will find some more screenhots.

I agree the park is cluttered, but thats my style.

I am going to sort out the colour schemes, as you all seem to think i should.

After sorting out a few of the areas i've already done, i am going to start on the next section.

I am going to call it OUT OF AFRICA.

It will be wooden buildings mainly.

Will contain some great custom scenery, and a river rapids ride called Escape From Mt ????

Need some help thinking of name of mountain. Mountain name needs to sound african!

Not bad at all, I quite like it. As of now, there really is nothing I can suggest to make it instantly better, but it can be better, and those improvements will come from more and more parkmaking.

    Those chinese roofs are nice.

I like it a lot - the Europa Square looks very detailed and complicated, which is always a good thing.

    Well Done.

    Hi,

I have made a couple of logo ideas in word and was wondering if anyone knows how to get them into a forum. I made them by putting picture together. (overlaping- so on) They logo is still made up of three different images however. Cheers.

There are loads of new pictures on in the link above (in my post further above - the post where it says heres two screenshots. Go to that link and you'll find about 10!!) of my new project Tropicano Woods. Again please let me know how what you think, and give me advice on how to make them better. The new screenshots, include a pic of the EL SPANIOUR area. This area is a small section in Europa, like Greek Creek. The is also The Tropicano Woods Logo inside the link as well. Hope you like the new screenshots. I am starting my new area (Out Of Africa today, so I'll post some screenshots of the area in the next couple of days or so. I tend to do an hour to two hours a day, but sometimes I cannot manage it. On the other hand other days I'll do more.

The interaction on the Greek Creek screen is great, and the theme is something I don't think i've really seen before, so well done. All of those balconies and overhangs on the Zeus screen are cool too, and the trees are well chosen (i've decided to ignore the fact that the trees are garish, i'll just accept them for what they are, seeing as it's not your fault they're like that).

El Spaniour is even cooler - that fountain in a building is great, the 'lattices' through which you can see flowers are a good idea and I like the atmosphere. Really good!

Sreed Street is nice too. You've got all your textures and colours working well with each other, which is great to see.

I'm looking forward to this park, a great NE debut IMO

    Well Done :)

Please tell me what you think of the logo if your looking at the pictures, as I think that is an important element in any successful rct project.

umm, it's really really busy...like way to much. But it looks pretty good =)
  • mantis%s's Photo
I think the logo's pretty cool! Especially if you only did it in Word.

If I had an 'approved' thing then i'd put it here, but I don't, so I can't.

Just thought I'd let you know I have been busy touching up some of the bits you mentioned, and finishing off Oriental Cove and starting new areas (OLD Town and Out of AFRICA). I'll post some screenshots tommorrow.
Still, I appreciate any advice or critism on the areas I've already constructed! :)
