We've only just had the ceremony for the 2020 awards, and it was absolutely packed. With a stunning Grand Tour Finale already happening, it's possibly already time to start thinking about nominations for next year's ceremony.

 

In this topic, you're invited to share your thoughts on recent releases and how they may be eligible for an award nomination next year.

 

Some staple awards such as Best Park, Parkmaker of the Year or best Newcomer are easy for us and/or can't be discussed until the year is over. These are the categories that you should consider instead:

 

- Best Idea

- Best Steel Coaster

- Best Wooden Coaster

- Best Non-Coaster Ride

- Best Architecture

- Best Foliage & Landscaping

- Best Atmosphere

- Best Aesthetics

- Best Ride Design

 

Of course, you are welcome to discuss other highlights, or even discuss hypothetical new award categories that you think are fitting for 2021.

Best Idea

 

- The trick used in tolsimir and leon's GT finals park; details omitted for now as a spoiler warning but it's truly fantastic.

- Ride hacks in FK/Zara's GT finals park; notably the turntable and drop track hacks.

Tromso

Not sure what category it should be in but the hacks on the Tromso adventure train deserve some laurel. Maybe that's included in best steel coaster.

Also; best architecture and atmosphere.

I hope you pay more attention to my NCSO releases in the future.

Wow, so sassy! I'm sorry for not paying attention to your parks sir. It won't happen again sir.

 

What will happen again is that a best idea suggestion is something that has actually been done before, because that happens all the time. Usually they don't make the cut for the awards.

If a 1:1 copy of a non-operating giant ferris wheel can win "best non coaster attraction", then what even matters.
