I agree with FK with that a readme should never be mandatory and be made a part of the contest. I agree with you Kai that a good readme can really enhance an entry. Your own readmes are always excellent, but Splitvision and ar9120 also know what's good. In the specific case of GT, I get the especial need for a readme since it's per definition reference heavy. I hope that the other players read this as well and take note. I think I'll post some photo comparisons in the topic later but I hope it won't come across as obnoxious.

I'll chime in to say Liam did specifically ask us for a description. That's not a readme, but I didn't have time to assemble a readme before deadline anyway.
It's not mandatory, but I asked because if you submit a park, the submission form also asks for it. It's entirely voluntary, but personally I always hope GT entries come with a description.

Ok I get the non mandatory thing FK, but also appreciate the nod Liam that these GT are reference heavy and how this would help.
Just a suggestion, I know I am in the minority for liking extra background to this degree. Carry on! -

I agree with you Kai, good readmes are a great bonus! Shouldn't be required of course, but I love when they're included.
Also, I think ][ and I will share some reference photos in the topic soon. There's lots of great source material that we used as a reference for this park. Ours is obviously based primarily on Dubrovnik, but we really tried to include other areas and blend them together as well as we could. Made for an interesting composition and storytelling at least haha -

He who has traveled has feedback to share!
The Grand Final deserves most if not all your attention right now, but if you can spare a few minutes, consider filling out this survey, which we will use not only for evaluation and reflection, but potentially also for planning future editions of the Grand Tour. We do take suggestions for round objectives and settings!

Several times the question has been asked what countries we considered doing, and there has been some discussion about how obscure the countries should be. This is a good moment to reveal that as a spiritual successor to RCTspace's Road Rallies contest, we ruled out all countries that have already featured as a Road Rallies objective. With the Grand Tour, we wanted to see some countries that hadn't been visited in RCT before - eliminating all Road Rallies, as well as more common settings such as Italy, Spain, the US, and China. This doesn't mean we won't have repeat destinations in the future, however.

Survey submitted yesterday, and thanks again to the admins for a well run show. Very engaging as a viewer or builder. I found myself oddly entranced (surprisingly at first) by Namibia, then wound up doing two more countries despite initially thinking I was done after Round 2. I loved the teamwork possibility as a fall back for a solo effort lagging, or a random invite from the start. That said, it is also geared to be fairly realistic to achieve solo as well, which only helps in its accessibility.
I for one enjoyed the research/learning aspect the best. In a year in which after mid-March I ventured no further than 90 minutes from my home (once!), this world tour was a virtual solution and I'm grateful for it.
Congrats to all the entrants, round winners, and Team HydroHenk for "bookending" the competition.
Thanks!
