Of course the beats are catchy, but they're not his, and I doubt Dr. Dre made them either. We have an entire culture thinking that rap is a simplified dangerous scene run by people such as eminem and dre, when it, like most of america is run by a boardroom of rich white men in suits wanting more money.Alright...
As a rapper, he's not the greatest there is. I think whoever it was (I think Foozy) that said his melodies and beats are boring and whatever, that was completely retarded.
People are being studied and dissected until an image can be produced to make the most money. 50 cent has a song about shoes. At this point, it may technically be music, but its not art. Its the embodiement of the american defacement of youth.
While they may be happy, people are becoming less and less like people. The world has serious unseen problems, and I dont like that the world is becoming a system of greed and corruption.
I'm a victim too. There are tons of things that corporations have somehow made me like, going as far as to studing the human brain, forcing us to do things. -

OK, I started of saying that I dislike rap and I think that many rap/ hip hop artist suck, because they are in it for the money...theyre making the big bucks on MTV doin stuff for them. Yes, a lot of rock artists are in it for the money too, but I rarely listen to them. Im not saying I hate all rappers, cauz I dont. I never started to diss on rap until you dissed heavy metal. I believe many rap and hip hop fans hate rock music, and many rock fans hate rap and hip hop. Its just how it is, and until a new brand of music that everyone likes (yeah, like that will happen), it wont change. Now, until I think of something else to say, Ill leave it to this. -

love is a strong word. I don't love any rap artist. I enjoy ja's music, as i do 2pac's and Rascalz and Choclair etc....Ok, this coming from someone who loves Ja Rule...
and i think its nelly with the shoe song, although 50 has shoes comming out soon. -

I believe that was Nelly....he made a song about rolling in 'Air Force Ones.' I'm sure you already knew that but I think that's what he was referring to.
I agree with Iris about Eminem, and not just because he's white! (I swear I'm not racist.) The first two LP's and the 8 Mile soundtrack are beautiful pieces of work. Eminem is a genius; unlike most rap artists he is bright enough to come up with lyrics that both sound cool (rhyme) and make sense. The stories he tells in some of his songs are powerful. His old work was what got him his bad reputation, because Dre tried to doctor him into being an out of whack comedian and that's not what he is. Since then he has become more then just a popular artist, he is a good storyteller, great songwriter, and he has a recognizable voice, unlike a lot of artists who all sound the same to me.
As for Natelox's comment, if the songs on the radio by today's artists are their 'good songs,' that only makes me hate rap even more. Most songs played on the radio are meant to be catchy with simple lyrics that are easy to sing to. The ones left on the albums are the ones that are for the true fans of the artists. For example, most people know 50 Cent by "The Birthday Song" , "P.I.M.P." or some of his other singles but I happen to know he sucks even more then that, having listened to his album. -

Nate, to emphasize my point...here's an excerpt from Jay-Z's "The Bounce".
For those that think Hov' fingers bling bling'n
Either haven't heard the album or they don't know english
They only know what the single is, and singled that out
to be the meaning of what he is about
And bein I'm about my business, not minglin much
runnin my mouth, that shit kept lingerin
But no dummy, that's the shit I'm sprinklin
The album width to keep the registers ringin
And I realize it was Nelly who made the shoe song, and thats why he's possibly the worst rapper alive. -

Which also proves my point about rappers being to dim to piece words together. Not only does that not rhyme correctly, it doesn't make sense, either! For those that think Hov' fingers bling bling'n
Either haven't heard the album or they don't know english
They only know what the single is, and singled that out
to be the meaning of what he is about
And bein I'm about my business, not minglin much

Dude, you can't be serious.
Hearing the song, it rhymes perfectly, so why the hell would you assume it doesn't? You think you can tell by hearing it without a beat? wtf?
And you gotta be honestly slightly retarded to not understand it. Makes perfect sense.
EDIT: How are the rappers dim when it's you who doesn't get it? -
Foozycoaster Offline
Sorry, I just looked it up, it was nelly.50 has a song about shoes??
Whats it called? -
Micool Offline
Well sorry my instincts don't tell me what "Hov' Fingers," "Bling Bling," "shit I'm sprinklin" and other phrases mean. Is it really me who doesn't understand English? How about, "The shit I'm bringin" or something? And you gotta be honestly slightly retarded to not understand it. Makes perfect sense.
Last time I checked, rhyming meant more then the same vowel sounds... -

We both know you know what "bling bling" means.
If you don't know what Fingers are, then you're a complete idiot.
And the "shit I'm sprinklin", well that's justifiable. Basically means, the shit I'm saying.
Here, I will spell out the entire thing of what I posted.
For those that think Hov' fingers bling bling'n <--People who think that Jay-Z (aka "Hov") flosses jewelry (fingers bling bling'n=rings...)
Either haven't heard the album or they don't know english <--Please tell me this self explanatory
They only know what the single is, and singled that out <--Same
to be the meaning of what he is about <--Same
And bein I'm about my business, not minglin much <--He's not going to correct people while the money is coming in
runnin my mouth, that shit kept lingerin <--So as he stays quiet about it, the assumptions keep going.
But no dummy, that's the shit I'm sprinklin <--Telling you that the assumptions are bullshit, and thats just what hes saying to make $
The album width to keep the registers ringin -

If you doubt that Dre made the beats, read the darn cd sleeve. Most rap record labels in the country are run by minorities. People like Irv Gotti, Dr. Dre, Timbaland, and Diddy aren't pushed around by a bunch of old white guys. you haven't been up that high, your butt is sittin' on the couch eatin bon bons listening to their music. So how could you make up a theory about what goes on in the next building unless you can see through the wall?Of course the beats are catchy, but they're not his, and I doubt Dr. Dre made them either. We have an entire culture thinking that rap is a simplified dangerous scene run by people such as eminem and dre, when it, like most of america is run by a boardroom of rich white men in suits wanting more money.
Also, Tupac is still here on the music scene. He has two singles on the radio, and an album today!
and micool, prejudgement turns on the girl power -

No, they're not being pushed around. Its synergy. Everytihng works together to get the most money out of you.
You can look as far as the minority representative, but past that is a corporate system. If Dre was replaced by someone like bill gates, would you buy stuff from him? no.
The entire industry is based off of an illusion, a whole scene where teenagers can subscribe to its rebellious additude, and a free ticket to acceptance.
But there are things you arent being told, and loopholes to make it legal. An industry with as much profit as rap has been discovered by the money wavers, and is now controlled by those with the most greed. A while ago, I respected rap a lot, but its now a victim of the machine, and everything decent (in mainstream rap at least) has been stripped away.
I hope I'm wrong, and I hope that you are being told the truth.
I'm not mad at rap, I'm just mad at what's silently happening to the world. -

Did I diss heavy metal?!! I've got Opeth and Lake of Tears on rotation in my cd changer. There's is a difference between a diss and saying that American society is too stubborn to accept music of another language. You have to face it, when we get to heaven, the languages will either speak Swedish or English because Americans and Swiss are to stubborn to learn any other language. Believe me, if I said metal sucks, there be 12 posts of fame following behind me, starting with QOTSA!I never started to diss on rap until you dissed heavy metal. I believe many rap and hip hop fans hate rock music, and many rock fans hate rap and hip hop. Its just how it is, and until a new brand of music that everyone likes (yeah, like that will happen), it wont change.
Also, rap-metal, I already see moshers diggin' Cypress Hill and Eminem.
Yes, Foozy, the rise of the machines is here, watch out for spudnick... -
The Langolier Offline
Bands (or rappers...in a way, theyre kinda both) like Cypress Hill try to rap will mixing in heavy metal. ICP does this also in a way.
BTW, no you did not diss metal....You more or less dissed Rammstein, which is totally different than dissing heavy metal altogether. I apologize for my ignorance there. -

Since when do I like metal?Believe me, if I said metal sucks, there be 12 posts of fame following behind me, starting with QOTSA!

QOTSA isn't metal. They're stoner rock. Whatever that means. What do Queen's of the Stone Age, Nine Inch Nails, Tool, and the Deftones count as?
Anyway, drop other people's names. I don't listen to all that much metal.
