QFTB:X

Quest for the Best: Extreme (subforum) was a gigantic solo contest with a knockout format. Map size or the bench didn't matter, it was all about the theme or coaster type the players were supposed to work with. Each section of the bracket had a different objective. 64 players entered Round 1, and from 32 matches emerged 32 victors that entered Round 2. QFTB:X made it to the semi-finals. For reasons unknown to me, a final match between the winners of the semis was never held.

 

Below you'll find all the matches and their outcome, with links to the contest entries that are now all in the database. Following the original bracket design, the list is divided in four separate bracket (East, North, West, South), each culminating in a champion to participate in the semi-finals, at the bottom of the list.

UQFTB

Unofficial Quest for the Best was an unofficial sequel to the earlier QFTB contes, initiated and organized by several members who were never around for the original contest. The premise remained largely the same: two players per match in a knockout format, with each section of the bracket getting a unique objective. The contest suffered from forfeits and unfinished entries, but also produced some very good RCT.

Did you announce this, cos even I don't remember the formal re-release...maybe I was too busy with work? Maybe a MM round was released?

That said, good job on finding almost all of these, and thanks again for the Bazilli !!!! aerial. I look forward to visiting these once things settle down after I get back from vacation. That includes yours, Steve...ai need to remember what I lost to by a 7-1 count.
