Uh I really wanted to do a Disney Sea Park, so I started one. I never really planned on advertising it here, but someone suggested it, so why not. So, sorry if it is Disney, but here are some screens and some "press releases" if you will.

Press Release: Monday, June 16, 2003. Work has begun!
Work has begun on Europes newest and best theme park, Disney Sea Paris. Recently construction rights have been issued, and construction has been going at record speeds in order to complete the park for the targeted date. The most work has been done on the parks first section, Mediterranean Entry Plaza, which will feature two dark rides, several shops, and several restaurants. Upon entry, you will be surrounded with rich Mediterranean architechture, and the bright colors of the sea.

La tournée du Méditerranéen (Tour of the Mediterranean)
One of the first rides you will encounter is this fantastically themed Mediterranean experience. You will be guided through many of the famous sites that line this beautiful sea. Sites will enclude: Italy, Spain, France, Egypt, and more. Passengers will board boats that are provided for the safe and exciting journey.

Wednesday, June 18, 2003. Photo Release

While most of the park has been kept secret, and there has been absolutely no tours of the construction site to the public, the chairman of The Disneyland Paris Resort has been kind enough to release this picture of the Mediterranean Entry Plaza. In the picture you will see the beutifully crafted Aqua Sphere, as well as the ancient Mediterranean style of building.

Thursday, June 19, 2003. Press Release:

Work on Europe's most extravegant theme park yet has been going well. The completion of La tournée du Méditerranéen has shown just how swift the construction team has been working. Plans have already been made for the next major attraction, and work should begin shortly. In the mean time, finishing touches are still being made to ensure Disney's high standard of perfection. Architects are hard at work drawing up plans for the monorail station that drops guests off at the entrance of the park. Due to the confined space of the park, the entrance, as well as the parking structure, and resorts, will be in a different location.

The second ride found in the beutiful Entry Plaza will be announced tomorrow, when the final touches are put into the story line. For now, we will release a photo of the first completed attraction. Note: This photo was taken before the siding and roofing was installed, to making viewing possible.

Enjoy the screen, and feel free to comment on the screen, and give suggestions. I have been experimenting with colors, and I think these work... If the area appears to be too cluttered, try to look at it from the "riders perspective," and remember there will be a roof on it, so it won't be nearly so "busy." Thanks!

Friday, June 20, 2003. Press Release:

La Mer et l'Orage (The Sea and the Storm)

After much though, and many possible concepts, a final decision has been made for the 2nd ride to be found in the Mediterranean Entry Plaza. After the great public approval of La tournée du Méditerranéen, we have decided to include yet another themed dark ride. Passengers will board the ride vehicles themed to mini-ships. The riders will be told they are touring the beautiful waters of the Mediterranean, but are warned weather can get very harsh and is often unpredictable. While abord the ships, riders will encounter such weather, and it is up to the riders to get out of the storm.

Monday, June 23, 2003. Press Release:

Work has been going very smoothly on La Mer et l'Orage, and the painters have been hard at work to achieve the best, and most agreeable color scheme The achitechture phase of Mediterranean Entry Plaza is nearly complete, and the ride construction phase is also drawing to a close. La Mer et l'Orage is in the process of being themed in the highest of Disney standards, and should be completed soon. Shown below is the much needed Carosel which is a staple to Mediterranean cities. The name has not yet been disclosed. Work should begin on the next area of the park within a week or so, depending on when the shipment of supplies are delivered.

For now enjoy the screen, and comment freely!

Oh and a side note, the green buildings are now gone. Thanks for your comments.

And sorry about the links, but I don't have a host...

The last 3 screens are wonderful! The archy is good, and the theming is pretty damn good. GJ.

None of the screens have a Disney feel to it, especially the second one. It's rather ugly how the ride goes right up to the edge of the map. C'mon man, you can have 256x256 maps now, there's got to be at least a couple squares free before the edge.

But besides that, it's still a nice looking park, just don't know if you should've attatched the Disney name to it, much less the Disney Sea one.

Looks really good. I like the logo alot, and the park looks even better. The buildings look very realistic, and well done, and the flume rides themeing is really great. I love the flowers around the carrousel. They add a nice touch.

Hmm... well this is what I was going for, and I will admit, it looks nothing like the other Disney parks, but compare this to the first screen. I would think you could see at least some similarities... http://www.ericshipl...entrance_to.htm And the map is really small, hence the space conservation, but I figured it wouldn't be a big deal because in the end it will be covered. Thanks for the comments! Suggestions are also nice though.

Do many damn Disney parks, it's become a tradition now that every Park Maker should have at least one disney park.

    Nice screens tho ;)
  • Meretrix%s's Photo
I like it. I wasn't sure about it until you posted the pic of the actual Tokyo ride (hmmm........ inspiring to say the least ;) ).
At any rate, good thinking about not including the parking structures and outside stuff on this map. That damn sprite limit creeps up on you faster than you think and with the level of detail it looks like you're going for, you'll want to save those sprites for your rides and archy.

    Nice Intamin.

BTW I'm from over at Thrillnetwork too.

I love what's there so far. I think it's up to New Element quality, at lease for now. Better than any of my work.
  • Rebel2000%s's Photo
You've already heard this countless times, but I love it. Keep up the amazing work.

I'm sorry, but that Aquasphere just cracks me up. (try using the 3-D theater) ;)

It's more like an Aqua golf ball (okay... so in scale it'd be about 15 feet tall, but isn't the real one like 30 or 40 feet tall?).
  • coasterphil%s's Photo
Great work as always intamin. :)
  • intamin101%s's Photo
Yeah, I was considering using a bigger aquasphere, but the theater was too large... I would have gotten a custom one made, but its too late for that. But I am glad I provided a laugh...

Besides, look at it compared to those benches... Its not nearly as large as the 3D theatre http://www.ericshipl...entrance_to.htm
  • Tech Artist%s's Photo
i like it. it does sort of have a disney feel.
  • mantis%s's Photo
Aside from the pretty cute Aquasphere, i'm not sure about this park...in principle the buildings are neat and cleverly built....but those 'rough-edged' arches really get on my nerves.

But keep the Aquasphere. It is cute.

Also, is it not possible to remote link from ThrillNetwork? You could IMG the pictures to make the updates have more impact.
  • intamin101%s's Photo
Yeah I tried that at first but I guess these forums have some sort of anit-leeching policy... It says how you can't have a URL with name.one or something like that. And which arches do you mean? Thanks for the comments! (I think).
  • mantis%s's Photo
Well, if you look in the first screen, you have buildings with 'arches' cut into them as kind of windows...they have rough edges which are either due to bad scenery making or my crappy resolution.

I'm betting on the latter, to be honest.
  • x-sector%s's Photo

you have buildings with 'arches' cut into them as kind of windows...they have rough edges which are either due to bad scenery making or my crappy resolution.

Thats how they actually look in the game and there not custom scenery, they came with the game.
  • mantis%s's Photo
Well then they suck. Every time someone uses them I think my eyes have messed up.

    Are there no better alternatives?
  • intamin101%s's Photo
If you are talking about the arches over the windows on the red building in the first pic, I know what you are talking about. But do you think that the ones that are just alone are ok or not? I might remove the ones over the windows because of the way the edges look. Oh and while we are talking about the red, what do you think of it? I removed the green but some people told me to also remove the red. Personally I think it keeps it from being too brown, but I need more suggestions. While I appreciate the comments about the impotent Aquasphere, I would also like comments on other aspects of the park ;) Thanks!
  • Meretrix%s's Photo
I think that within the limits of the game, this thing looks pretty close to your photo. I like the red and the green, they break up the multitude of brown that can sometimes weigh down a "realistic" feeling park. I am wondering if maybe some very light blue (the one in the color palette that is between the teal and the green) should be on some of the buildings. It would help lighten up the brown and it would tie in the green and red as well. Just a thought. By the way, is there really a merry go-round in a spot like that in the Tokyo park. It's placement seems odd to me. I've always felt that Merry Go-Rounds should be kind of a centerpiece (almost like a piece of art).
