I ask a problem and you asnwer it. Whoever gets it right gets to ask another.

    Let us start easy...

    Find the roots of x^2+2x-4
  • posix%s's Photo
    x² + 2x - 4 = ??
  • Turtleman%s's Photo
Use the quadratic formula, x=(-b+or-square root of b²-4ac)/2a

EDIT: And I said find the roots which means you set the whole equation to 0.

    Roots= -2 & 2

    Don't get too hard...

    Ok solve:

    logx²+log(x+2)=log(x-3)

    Find x

    Ok solve:

    logx²+log(x+2)=log(x-3)

    Find x

    11 bazillion

    Wrong.

math class is over for the year, so fuck it until august

gah, unless in school, no math
  • Turtleman%s's Photo
    OK... find F '(x) when F(x)=2x³+x²-3x+4

Well that is Calculus but it is easy..... For me atleast.
  • Pym Guy%s's Photo
    thats nice Turtleman.
  • Caddie Gone Mad%s's Photo
I get to ask the next one bitch.

    Man, I can't remember anything.

    That's algebra, idiot.

I did some of those problems in Algebra at the end of this year! :0

LOL! No it isn't. If it is algebra then solve it. Hmm Find F prime of X.
  • Caddie Gone Mad%s's Photo
Now why in the hell would I do that? I don;t have to do math for 3 months, and I'm keeping it that way. That factoring shit was easy. And you're 15. How the hell are you in calculus?
  • Turtleman%s's Photo
    F '(x)=lim (F(x+h)-F(x))/h
    h-0

    So if F(x)=2x³+x²-3x+4 then:

    ((2(x+h)³+(x+h)²-3(x+h)+4)-(2x³+x²-3x+4))/h

    So,

    (2x³+6hx²+6xh²+2h³+x²+2hx+h²-3x-3h+4-2x³-x²+3x-4)/h

    So,

    (6hx²+6xh²+2h³+2hx+h²-3h)/h

    Factor out a h,

    (h(6x²+6xh+2h²+2x+h-3))/h

    Cancel the h's,

    6x²+6xh+2h²+2x+h-3

Sub 0 in for h because the limit is 0.

    6x²+2x-3

    So F '(x)=6x²+2x-3

    So let's say x=1

That means if x=1 the slope will be 5 at that point of the function. Basically

    F '(x)=6x²+2x-3

is a formula to find the slope of a point at any point.

And the reason I will be going into Calculus is because

    1.) I love math
2.) It is easy for me
3.) I took Trig and Geometry over the Summer, so I am 2 years ahead of everyone.
  • Caddie Gone Mad%s's Photo
That's nice, but please explain how a 15 year old is in calculus.
