(Archive) Advertising District / Disney's Tilted Acres Update!

holy shit this is looking like the best Disney Park I have ever seen i cant wait for it !!!!!!!

This park looks Very Fabulous so far, I like it. I don't stress giving a straight 10 for a rating.

I'm sorry, but I don't like Thunder Mountain at all. I don't like the little S-curve at the end and I don't like the station. It looks more like an old house instead of a mine type building. Use lighter wood, and make it a little bit more open.

Now Space Mountain...


I'm not so keen on the colors...

Again, Space Mountain has the DLP color scheme (well as close as you can get in RCT). All of Discoveryland has this type of coloring.

All I can say about you're space mountain is HOLY SHIT! I don't even care about colors, because you are one of the first, if not the first to make a good looking space mountain building

You picked a good park for inspiration... Disneyland Paris is AMAZING. I SO want to go there one day...

Your Frontierland is looking stunning, and I can see where you're getting your Adventureland too. The Space Mountain looks interesting, but really, there's no way of recreating that "nicely" in RCT. I like what you've done so far, though.

The theming inside your Indy Jones rides could be better. It's not as good as your architecture, but that just means you're not perfect. Pirates looks great, though.

Overall, this is some very nice work, but it's fallen from a 10/10 to a 9.8/10.

Thanks for the praise Corky. You actually haven't seen the Indy ride finished. It has so much more theming (the game just wouldn't let me save the ride with all the theming so I had to choose the stuff I really wanted. I hate that feature about this game.) I am curious as to A: Why you thought this park was a 10 and B: why it has fallen in your estimation and C: How can I make the Space Mtn. facade better (The one that I have so far took about 6 hours to produce). I am totally open to suggestions.

And by the way, DLP is amazing. I go there every time I'm in Paris (about every other year). Sadly, Space Mtn. is not aging very well. Oh well, what can we expect from Vekoma?

Your genious never ends. I have never seen anything so awesome looking as adventure land or whatever. This park is definately awesome. It really is a shame that I'll never be able to open it.

It reminded me instantly of the one in Paris. Colours are a match! Great job!

Thanks to Webshots, my update from yesterday got pushed back to today. Two more shots are up (Adventureland stuff). There won't be any new updates for a while as life is getting hectic. On a different note, this park will be released with two custom music files (Haunted Mansion and Space Mountain).

ive got 2 questions, how big is the park and how much is left ot be done?
cos imo this is the best rct2 park to date in terms of good realism

I'm not sure if it's the best, but thanks for the compliment. The park is 200 x 200 with the park taking up about 150 x 150 squares. I was going to put in a Downtown Disney as well as some "outside the park" streets and stuff and then.......Butterfinger discovered the hard way about those damn sprite limits...sooooooooo.....I removed all of the exterior stuff and am now just focusing on the park itself. Once the park is done, I'll start on the hotel (there is now only one) and I'll theme it simply to make sure that it will be able to be completed. I am very concerned that I'll hit the sprite limit because just the building for Space Mountain has about 20 things on each tile. The park is about 50% complete. I still have to do Critter Country, and finish Frontierland. Most of the dark rides have been built (except Winnie the Pooh) and all the coasters have been completed. The park should be ready sometime in September.

This park is looking Awsome, Alot of parks I have seen are great but this is awsome. Its given me a few Ideas for a park , Disney park but not one if you know what I mean.

There are 6 new shots up in the archive. Two are from Adventureland and the other 4 are from Discoveryland (Tomorrowland). Also, please post feedback, good or bad, as I know that way too many people are looking at this archive and not commenting (Webshots informed me that this archive has had 2500 hits THIS WEEK, and has been viewed almost 7000 times since it was started.). Feedback is what keeps me going on this very daunting task. As it stands now, this park may be available as early as September 1st. The only major section left to do is Critter Country and Splash Mtn. SO.............keep your fingers crossed!!!

Agreed completely. It looks so real, and yet so fantasy, great theming, very disney. Keep it up.
