My PT2 entry is at about 55%. I've built some of the larger structures in the past week, so they are helping to get it to fill out more. I'm starting work on a new section and once I finish it I should be up to about 75%. I'm pretty sure I'll make it to that by Christmas, and I think I'll be able to finish with the extension. Also, I just realized that I have nearly a month off for break, so that'll give me plenty of time to work on this.
Anyways, I think you guys will be really happy with my park. I've even used a fair amount of trackiture, so I might even be able to please the LL crowd a bit. -

that was actually kinda funny.
I completely agree about you sayin that you need to use "trackiture" or whatever to impress the LL peeps, but I disagree 100% that you need to have "trackiture" to achieve a nice atmosphere in a park. Which is exactly what a park is. Its how it feels in-game. Not by how many coasters you have, or how many rocky spots there are, or how much you use coaster tacks/rides to make detailed architecture. That shouldn't be how a park is looked at about.
One example would be posix. His work dont use too many tracks/rides to make his architecture look good. Hes got his own way of making it look nice without using "trackiture" as much as others. Thats something I am still working on myself.
I hope yall understood what I was sayin here...Edited by RMM, 23 November 2005 - 06:48 PM.

Parkwars- Ignoring it. Doesn't matter. PT!
PT2- I'm getting there. On days when I'm not so worn out, overworked, or volenteered by somebody else to do somebody elses job then I get something done, otherwise noting's happening fast.

Seriously? I'm not too much of a fan of trackitecture (get it right...) in rct2 parks, especially seeing as there are other options. Obviously it works well in LL parks, but it's not completely necessary - your example of posix proves that, except that you used it to support your argument, even though his success weakens it.

Okay, I guess I should be a little more specific. I'm not using it *that* much in my park. It is Rct2 after all, so it isn't necessary. There are just some things that I think look better made out of tracks, as they'd probably just look blocky and dumb when made out of the available quarter tile blocks. So it's mostly being used as accent pieces. It's tasteful. For the most part it still looks like the custom scenery wonderland that is a Rct2 park. I just thought I'd mention it, because it's still a lot more trackitecture (sorry...) than I usually use. And it is kind of fun, since I haven't got to play LL in so long.
And it's at about 60% now. Just got a few little things done over the holiday. -

When it comes to trackiture in RCT2 I use a lot of it (KC is is like 20% done and im up to 86 rides used...) and its not just for show, its to express what im building with it coz you can't click on a scenery object and get text, you need track for that.
Oh and for the sake of the topic my... PT2 is like 40% -

^Not to mention it's great for when you have indoor rides and you want to show the ride inside the building. -

"Trackitecture" or whatever isn't really about impressing people. It's about using the tools available to make themes that aren't already in the game. Once you get tired of the limited selection of theming objects already in the game, you have to improvise if you want to avoid creating the same old themes over and over again. In RCT2 people found a different way around that problem, custom scenery, but the idea is the same. If there was no custom scenery for RCT2, people would be using "trackitecture" for that game too. And actually, people use scenery in many of the same ways in RCT2 that people use coaster track in LL such as elaborate architecture and large sculptures and custom supports. But that doesn't mean you can't still use the "trackitecture" in RCT2 if you really wanted to. Personally, I think it would be pretty silly to use it just so it will look like the LL style. It serves a purpose in LL, it isn't just style for the sake of style or showing off. But even though the selection of scenery for RCT2 is much much bigger than it is for LL, there will always be some theme ideas that you can't make with the scenery in the game already because the number of possible themes is literally infinite. As vast as imagination itself. And there's no rule against combining the two (custom scenery and coaster track) to create what you want either. It's just up to the builder to decide what looks best to them and what is the best way to achieve their goal. -

BGSS's themed areas have all been constructed. All that is left are a few revisions and a bit of landscaping.
Its at about 97%.
