RCT Discussion / Park Updates

  • CoasterForce%s's Photo
I am so busy right now, getting home at 6:30 every night, on top of homework and everything else. Meaning no RCT. But, I say to you my friends, CoasterForce WILL finish his PT entry.

Architecture is kicking my ass, so BGSS will remain idle until further notice.

lol, I've got the same issue. My course is 30 hours a week in class and it has been suggested that if you're spending more than an hour on homework for each hour of class you're doing too much. So they suggest about a 60 hour week, all encompasing.

And hence, Ouest is on hold.
  • tracidEdge%s's Photo
yeah, i'm not building anything at the moment. I'm tired of all my current projects. so i trashed them all.

Where do you go to school?

I've never heard of 30 hours of classes for college--I hear 18 is about the max you should take per semester--and the one hour of home work to an hour of class isn't what I've heard either. Something like study it until you know it.

But yeah, homework, swimming, and the PT, as well as applying for colleges do not mix well. I'll try my best, and will release something.

Well, at USC i take....about 22 hours of class per week....work on projects and other hw about 45-50 hours per week. Its hell.
  • natelox%s's Photo
I wouldn't call it hell. I guess it's all about time managment. This weekend doesn't look too good for me, for homework I've got:

-Draft a site plan (For a 'Construction Processes' kind of class)
-Draft a floor plan (for drafting)
-Math project (not due until November, but I need to get started)
-Site Monitering Project (for 'Construction Materials' course)
    -Physics lab

And in terms of penguinBOB statement of: "Study it until you know it," well yeah. But I'm just talking about homework. Midterms are in one or two weeks.

Nate's got the key, Fatha. It's about time management.

I went through this and I survived, so you can do it too. :p

But maybe you understand why WDE's taken so long. The need to be inspired while building it PLUS the limited time I have means that I have to be inspired and have free time. A combination that's rare.

    Coming along excellently with PT2.

    55% completition.

  • Corkscrewed%s's Photo
    I'm always working on stuff.

Right now it's PT2, but it would have been my solo if it weren't for this.

    Unfortunately, I'm nowhere near 55%

i really want to see ride6' PT entry.

Jeez kid, I think I could use an extra month and you're 80% done... damn.

Anyway, JB, I'll get to showing a screen in the topic when I have something I want to show, which is the issue right now. I've got lots of little bits and pieces done but nothing I really want to show a screen of.

Yeah, I'm starting to get worried that I might not finish my PT entry in time. I'm only about 30% done, and it's easily my best work ever, but with only about a month left, and finals coming up, I'm getting worried. I'm sure my building speed will increase a lot once school is over, but unless if I'm at at least 50% by then, I doubt I'll finish. I guess I could do a lot of filler, if I have to. :(

Eh, we'll see. I'll try not to let you guys down.
  • tracidEdge%s's Photo
just don't show a screen, ride6. i know i'd rather wait to see your entire entry.

You just want me to get myself disqualified! 8@

Just kidding. I'm actually kind of sorry that I didn't wait to show what I have now. Actually, maybe not. It would've given away too much. I guess I'll just have to save the best for last. Just hoping I finish.

    Mmmm...

When your mind is always on work, you're managing your time wrong. You're much more efficient with some distraction anyways. Not that i'm some great awesome time manager, but i thought i'd just chip in and stuff.

45-50 hours a week still should leave some room for fun, though. I mean, that basically you could do that in the daytime and have fun at night. Usually, exhaustion is going to take part though and that's just really fucked up. (gets to me too..) If you're honestly spending that much time on some study you honestly should be dropping some subjects and doing them the year after. Because, really, you're young, and a stressed out life like that is madness.

And really, what's wrong with managing your time in such a way that you put education on a second priority, yet always on the first to eventually finish it? If i take a year longer on my studies, but have some brilliant fun whilst at it, i'm sure it will have been worth it!

^Experience is far more important than knowledge, so I would agree. Don't be a "bisy backson", if you know what I mean. Take the time to do something you enjoy and relax a little. Remember you are in control of your life, whether anyone around you or you yourself believe that or not.
