RCT Discussion / Park Updates

After going back and forth on what to do on Steelworks (keep what I had and improve it, or demolish and start over), I initially demolished almost everything and began rebuilding. Then after a month or so, I came back and realized I'd rather keep what I had initially, improve it where necessary, and copy some stuff back from my rebuilt version to the original (like some entrance buildings). Hope to get some good progress in on it soon. Park itself is probably 50%, surroundings (which will include urban stuff and a university), probably about 5%.

I think I can safely say SeaWorld is around 75%... 7 years on.

Will hit the object limit soon, so hoping that goes away soon.  But it's getting closer to actually being a finished reality.

I didn't want to post another screenshot yet so this is probably the next best place to post this if you haven't seen it yet. https://www.youtube....h?v=pnSD8kCkrHI

I'd say SpreePark is more or less 80% done by now. Three areas left to build, huge areas of forest need to be planted and the surroundings need to be developed. Maybe more like 75% now that I think of it.

MCI, that looks quite great. The park layout just seems to miss some 'hubs'. It's quite sparse, lacking any 'hot spots'. I think it's a good idea to vary the density in your park.

I'm on the seventh day with De Bedriegertjes, just sitting back and overlooking my creation from a distance.

If I could ever pull myself away from classical music composition, I would work on Spaceport Omega.

I don’t know % but I basically have to rebuild the basic shape from the ground up for geometric precision... I must be weird. Plus I plan on all cut-away views to expose interiors. Then I’ll have a building block for the building to next detail. There also is next the theme lands/planets that the spaceships travel to... or I might make them just coasters. Whatever the case, about ten years in the making and it may be another ten at the rate I’m going.

    Vermillion update

Smarch 14th 2019 Status:  Recently have made very, very little progress.  Building has been characterized by picking an area that is close enough to finished to get a Steve screen in for the month, and I’m more or less out of those candidate areas now.  Work and freelance projects have kept me from putting together a good week of continuous building in the evenings for the past several months.

    Spoiler

Currently there are [9] maps started. The 3 main parks are actively being built on, if only in small patches, the waterpark map is in early blocking in, and [7] resorts are under construction.

The Vermillion Resort is the life work of one man, known to the world simply as Hernando. When he first bought a few acres on the riverside, he planted the trees that are still on the property today and turned his orchards into the finest for miles around. Hernando always loved entertaining the folks who would come to pick their own fruit, so he began to add attractions and soon expanded across the river to create a full-fledged boardwalk. Hernando's Boardwalk has grown over the decades into one of the finest multi-park amusement destinations in the world, with rides, shows, and all sorts of incredible experiences for visitors from around the world.

Love your log book story on your park Intamin ^^   But if I have to believe Faas you place 10 objects a week or so :p  Good  luck with that, don't forget your monthly screen. We don't want Steve to become admin, don't we ;)

I started my new park project San Federico exactly a month ago. Think I never built this much in such a time frame, progress is going fast and steady. Think it's about 30% now. The red square should be the final map.

About 75-80% finished with this, just need to finish the spaceport interior and a few buildings and it'll be ready.

That is awesome, man. Wish you didn't reveal the whole thing like this though.

I'm about to hit year 150 on Yangshou Valley's Thrill & Waterpark (the park which is shown in my last 5 screens), which will make it surpass the Apprenticeship and Silver Hills Amusement Park as the park that I have spent the most amount of time on.

I thought I would take this milestone as an opportunity to tell a little bit about the park. The park is set in Asia and the map is 150x150 with a little bit of room for expansion which I might use to expand certain areas which I feel are a bit cramped atm (mainly the parking lot), although I will first fill the 150x150 map. The park itself is set in a valley and will consist of the park itself, an urban area and a more rural area. I would say the park is currently approximately between 15-25% done. I plan for the park to be finished in 2021 and I hope this can be my first large scale solo release.

It was this gigantic map I was working on which was inspired by Cedar Point (there are some screens of it on my page). However I decided to quit the project because A. It has a lot of flaws (I started the map on a 120x120 map and later expanded the map to a 256x256 map but this meant that the mainstreet is in a super awkward place). B. A lot of stuff in that park seems incredibly dated as I started that park in 2015 when I just started to become active again on NE and I feel like I have improved a lot since I started that park. C. The map is way too large.

oh yeah that one, with the diagonal loop. theres some great stuff there but I understand the need to move on since then

I'll be picking this up again after Micro Madness (which for me could be as early as next week), but here's an early shot of Arizona's Oasis, with only Mexico looking halfway presentable so far.

30-40% of the way there, depending on whether it takes 3 or 4 in-game centuries to finish it. A Christmas release would be optimistic, and by that I mean I'm optimistic that I'll be accomplishing other life goals this year so that it will take me at least until December to release it.

That dive coaster layout is super flow-y Terry.. looks really nice so far.

Okay guys, enough off this bullshit.

I'm going to finish SpreePark within the next two weeks. Got my final exam next wednesday, I hope to be finished before, in case I'm going on vaccation afterwards. Going to send the file to my trusted "proof readers" and then this shit is going live...
