hmm, when it gets down to a few that people are passionate about, will it turn into one person taking off and another person adding on indefinitely? at the moment there's still enough diversity for things to go down but i can sense that might not last much longer

I've been thinking about that, this game usually ends in a stalemate, kinda. Since in this case I want to end it when we get down to five it may work out okay, but otherwise this would be a solution:

Every gets to detract three points, while adding only two. This will end the game guaranteed.

I think we should just end this game quickly and do the next round with some improvements to the format. Games should be quicker and shorter.
