A recreation would certainly not work. An 'inspired by' park would. Call it Element Point, start with a basic peninsula landscape, and everyone will get the idea. Also in the case of a chain park like that, it would be great if someone could create a 'style guide' listing in this case Cedar Fair traits. A fixed foliage palette like Alex said would be helpful too, but that should not necessarily be the one who makes the 'style guide'. Actually both things should make up the style guide together. -

I can do it.
My recreation suggestion was a bit sarcastic, there is now way we could actually pull off a recreation on a MP server without many hours of prep before hand.

I'd actually like a more "chain" park with a bit more freedom that a truly only do that because they'd do that in RL to make it a bit more interesting but still a cedar fair park with like loose undevelopped themes could be fun and make for a larger map aswell because it not being as work intensive

I feel it could still be too early for a chain park on MP.
I totally would love the ultra realistic style, and I think having something that is inspired by would give people ideas and more grounding.
Like this Cedar Point idea, we have a peninsula, CP is the guide, its not a rec, it is just the 'style guide' without someone having to put the work into it.
And remove the Cedar Fair chain attachment, then nobody gets pissed that their work gets removed because it isn't deemed Cedar Fair enough.

Then we will just have people getting pissed because their work isn't good/realistic/etc... enough.
But if we do a chain park, the chances that people would actually build work representative of the chain is probably -1%.

Oops didnt notice this, i posted my "rebuild ll park" idea in the other thread. Lets do that plz -

ok then come up with the chain called New element amusement corporation and build it according to what A chain would do, not a specific chain, like build coasters that are record breakers and such...

Anyone have any last suggestions?
Most likely we will start the new map in the coming days, as long as the current map gets a bit more work done.

Proposed park idea:
NE's magical realms
Complete park in high end theming(big budget)
Themed to anything that had to do with magic. Both evil and good, think wizards and witchcraft, fantasy beasts, castles and fairt tales.
Areas can vary from the forbidden forest to the dark magic alleyway with gingerbread candy shop and stuff like that.
Make the park guide peeps through impressive architectural weenies and big elements in attractions. But also keep the park adventurous with a lot of nooks and crannies with areas that sometimes have more obscured sightlines so They really Discover the park like you Would stumble upon something magical in the woods
I Would be more than happy to take a more leading role in this park and build a things like a main entrance, a decent sized flat and maybe even a mid-sized coaster.
I am very open to suggestions though -

Still pretty crazy how the group park was built in a month. It looks like it would be close to the object limit, or does OpenRCT2 have a way around that? Also, I have been checking it out now and then and never see anyone building or in the chat. Maybe a permission issue? I would like to jump in the chat sometimes if possible.
New group park... I would love to see Disney in some form. Perhaps use some of the ideas Pac, nin and Xcoaster had for H2H7 and a Magic Kingdom theme. I think they would be okay with providing those.

A Disney style park yes but not under the Disney name I feel because that gives the chain thing as Disney never builds very thrilling rides like a big coaster or such... that's what I proposed the magical theme thing because it can lead to Disney level theming without having to work with a brand name that makes site you have to make it believable within that chain -

Won't you guys just end up fighting over who gets to make the big coasters? lol. Disney kinda takes that aspect away which can help a group park.

I think the best thing to do is to try the total opposite of the park thats been done first. So no massive immersive themes, just a plain, amusement park style, the boring realism everyone loves to hate.
I think the first park has catered to the players who love to build immersive themes and impressive atmospheric themed areas etc, now its time to cater to people who like to build realistic Six Flags/Cedar Fair chain parks, just don't have a chain attached so there is more freedom and no 'this doesn't feel like cedar fair' comments.

I love to hate realistic Cedar Fair/Six Flags style parks, true. Doing that for a new group park after this great almost-IoA type would be like taking some of the greatest artists in the world, putting them all together and asking them to draw stick figures.

Kumba, if building SF/CF style is so easy, why don't you just build a spotlight level boring realism park? Seems you always say its the easiest style to build, yet you've never done it, and I doubt you've ever attempted it.

Well, I rather not spend months making something I consider dull. Just me, but I do see skill in them. I don't literally "hate" realistic styles. I was being a little sarcastic there.

Kumba I disagree, because it wouldn't be taking those same players, it would be opening the multiplayer server up to other players that have felt alienated trying to build this high level of theming when they are better, and more used to building in a amusement park setting.
I totally understand that everyone loves these high level, high quality parks like we have currently been making, but not everyone likes building them and I think we need to cater to everyone.
This park has 1) Catered to people who love building theme parks. 2) Catered to those that have no preference and enjoy building both theme parks and amusement parks. 3) Stopped people who don't like building theme parks and prefer building amusement parks.
So our next park really should do the opposite. Yes it will piss the people off that have enjoyed building this style of park that don't like the proposed style as they don't want to participate, but you get new players that haven't wanted to participate on this park. Those people that don't wish to build this style will have to be patient and wait, like others have.
Rotation is key, unless of course the popularity of building an amusement isn't as high and doesn't kick off like this one has, but its got to be tried.
