You've probably heard of Thrillnetwork, one of the Internet's leading coaster-devoted sites, but you probably haven't heard of Speedzone or much less the Premier Parks. Well here's a heads up! Speedzone is a section of TN that includes many coaster games, including RCT1 and RCT2. The Premier Parks is TN's RCT park contest, where past winners have included Natelox, Butterfinger, and TXCoasterGuy1. You could be next!
I'm sending an invitation to the people of NE to join us in this contest. All you need to do is register at the TN forums (if you haven't before), and submit your park into Speedzone. Submissions for the June contest will be accepted until June 23rd, and the voting (winning is based on user votes) will run for the final week of June.
To submit your park, read the rules, or discuss the contest, visit this forum over at Thrillnetwork. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me (my username at TN is Mike C).
Thanks, and I hope that many of you take part in this! -

Comment noted...
If you have nothing good to say, please don't say it. Don't want to participate in the contest? Fine, don't. I'm only trying to publicize it; sorry if I've trespassed on your sacred NE ground. Don't kill the messengerboy.
So, does anybody have anything mature to say? -

Thrillnetwork is a boring website and so is the contest... wait, I just reiterated what Ty said in a more boring way. Anyway, the whole point of a messageboard is to let people know your opinion, whether good or bad. So... um yeah. -

Here's my opinion:
Even as part of the staff, I will say that TN is a bit lacking in the reference category, but their forums are unmatched. They are by no means, boring. You can have your opinion, and that's mine. The games section, Speedzone, is just starting up, and if you guys would be a little open-minded, you could help make it better.
All I'm asking is to check it out. -

I really like the site, the only problem is (no offense to you, Rebel2000 or others) is that there is not the same amount of talent as there is here, the competition isn't as great, plus the RCT comunity is very small. The plus sides are that they used to give out tickets to your homepark, and i won three times, so i convinced them to get me a seasons pass FYi, they don't do that anymore. -

Fix it up a bit. Find some talent. Then you'll really have something worth looking at. Please don't bitch about the bad comments you get, that's what the forums are for, other peoples opinions.

What do you think I'm doing? Why do you think I came to NE in the first place? To have something worth looking at, you have to start somewhere. Guys, please, stop being so closed-minded.Find some talent.
Opinions are a two way street, pal. Comment all you want, and I'll just reply. -

I don't think I said anything about the forums being boring, maybe I just can't read correctly. The contest sounds dull, and you are letting just about anything enter, if the contest had something more unique that I would have to do, it would be interesting, but just sending in a park that would/could be years old just isn't fun. -

Well, basically the people there we were trying to target by posting at NE are rising parkmakers. There are a lot of people on this site that just don't have a chance at the spotlight, or the runner up. True, it is not nearly as compedative as it is here, but some may prefer that. Since this is the first TNPP in a while, the rules are very lax so we could get more participation. We aren't asking that everyone drop everything and head over to TN. We just wanted to see if there was any interest here... -

Good one.oh yes, and the spotlight here has never been done before.
The reason for the very broad field of submissions is because this is the first contest in a while, like Intamin said. I'd like to get as many parks as possible so that I can generate a large initial interest in it. As time goes on, rules for submission will get a little tighter and other contests will also take place. But first we need some participation in this one! -

There's a difference between spotlight with no actual end or deadline and this competition...
but um... I guess it would depend on the type of prize, if it were for money or anything of that nature, you'd have a helluva' lot of submissions (see: NE High Rollers) ... but yeah, good luck... I may enter if I can even finish a park. -

There's a difference between constructive criticism and plain being an asshole to someone. That's still my only gripe with NE is that it seems like most outsiders aren't welcome and to be honest, members like this who just verbally abuse the 'not so regular' members are hurting this site. NE isn't exactly growing (the members, but the content is getting a lot better) because of crap like the few comments before.that's what the forums are for, other peoples opinions.
That may be true to NE regulars, but it's completely an opinion to anyone else. There isn't a 'best' in RCT, it's just an opinion. You can claim someone as the best if they got a "high score" at the game, but there isn't such a thing. But the parks are very nice here and getting better with RCT2 now. But that's my opinion and shouldn't be the standard, if you will.there is not the same amount of talent as there is here
As for Thrillnetwork, I haven't visited in a long time. Not since it closed about a year or so ago. I might just make it back there though. Thanks for keeping us informed with the news Rebel2000. Some of us appreciate it. -

Right, I know about the opinions. I was relating to the number of RCT players here that play to make quality parks.

The reason we (I talked to Rebel about advertising here) decided to advertise was because we are just not getting enough participation. We were a little hesitant about posting a thread here (I wonder why...) and all we hoped for was a couple of people to check out the contest. NE gets a bad rap about the members being assholes, and I am usually one to defend it here. I just feel bad for people like Gutterflower who though they don't act like that, get the generalization. -

Well said Mike R.
As someone earlier said, good parkmakers have come out of the "**** site." Who knows? If Natelox or Butterfinger never got their start over there, who knows where they'd be now or what level they'd be playing at?
That said, I'm sure they'd have found their way here anyway, but I think TN was a good place to start out.
