NE Olympics '16 / June 30th: Vertical Sprint

Awesome buildings, considering they were created in one week! Can't vote because of the LL entry, but Faas' was my favourite, great structure and detail, followed by Kumba and Jaguar's, nice large building and cool story behind it.

That's something that should be brought up.  People should only be able to vote if they own LL.  I guess for this it's not a big deal, but for future rounds that include LL entries people should have to prove they can view the parks in LL to vote.

Yeah I wanted to do a null vote but it was no option. I voted for CHEs entry as no1 and Kumbas as second. I liked my entry the best but I don't like voting on myself .

The LL entry came with screenshots of the tower from all 4 sides. Because there was no movement in this entry, I feel like there's not a lot of difference between open the park or looking at the screens.

Yeah, it was really nice of Merzbow to provide screens for those who don't have LL, but I don't think this will work every round. Still, I recommend people to buy it, it's really cheap and fun!

@Da_Cool, I agree with you for this round it doesn't really matter.  But in the future where the maps are actually parks, its important that people can view them in game in-order to vote.

Yeah, for other rounds it won't work as well but in this case I figured screens of all four angles would be exactly the same as viewing it in game.

blackwood tower:

not bad for sure. a bit dull (intentionally?) and would have loved some more detailing eg interiors to really bring it to life. I think the building itself is maybe a bit 'meh'

I like the surroundings. the building itself was just alright though, a bit awkward IMO. also, why did you surround it in red blacktiles??

lovely job on the building and the interiors. definitely some nice details in there and the building looked really good. good work!

love some LL! nice art deco tower and solid detailing work. not the most 'wow' thing I've seen in LL but its certainly a very good go at a realistic building.

loved this. great building which fits the source material perfectly, and some extra interesting shit with the monster. solid entry all round.

 

Q1:

for having smashed this out in like 2 days this is seriously impressive, could have been near the best IMO. kudos on getting the building exterior itself up and finished-ish in time.

 

terminal towers:

yay for having a coaster! the building itself and the surroundings felt a bit bare but I liked the concept.

 

de domtoren:

definitely a lovely clocktower. I liked the choice to not go with a modern skyscraper although it is still pretty classic liampie. great architecture though, solid entry.

 

fast and furious:

my favorite entries are the ones where things are actually happening so kudos here. the towers and surrounding are good, not perfect, but nice. I liked the car stuff and peeps though!

 

guardian building:

seriously excellent piece of architecture. Love it a lot. definitely breaks out of your standard style too!
