Furthermore, this year and last year seem to be good years for hip hop, and I'm not complaining. 

I agree Faas. I would extend that to include R&B and Jazz too. On the other hand there's hardly been any guitar based music I've been that excited about this year.

Some of you put the band first and others put the album first and it makes it really hard to read.

Well the thread asks for "best albums" so I put the album first.

Yeah, I thought by leading the way everyone would follow my example.

Astoria by Marianas Trench was definitely my favorite.
