General Chat / Simcity: the future.

What is the future of SImcity? Will there be new came in the future? Who will make it?

Well... There already is a future of Sim City. It's called "Cities Skylines".

Yea, SimCity is probably dead for the near future, once you fuck up a reboot like this it's going to be at least 10 hears before the next attempt. For the time being we have Skylines and even SC4 which is still great. TBH SC has gotten to big for its own good, the most recent game was a perfect example of how a big publisher can ruin an old franchise, just like Atari and RCTW will likely be.

I honestly didn't mind the newest SimCity. I haven't played the previous games much though, either. This Cities Skylines game looks fucking sick, however.

Just buy Skylines.  It was well worth the money.

Also, it is fully integrated into the Steam Workshop and there are tons of mods and custom assets.

Cities: Skylines is probably the game i'm most irking to play at the moment. My crappy laptop doesn't allow for any really modern games (2GB RAM which 1GB gets taken up by my overly bulky installation of Win7, a 1.73 Ghz processor, it overheats, screen doesn't work and is falling off, mousepad broken, speakers broken, super old), so that's why i can't play it. Yet. I will hopefully be purchasing a new computer, tonight actually.

I apologize for this post being more rambling about my laptop than talking about SC or C:S. But still, DAMNDAMNDAMN i want to play C:S so bad!
