I have sort of discovered a new style of archy, tell me what you think
(it isnt fully themed ) -

It is way better than what you have done before. Just spice it up with some new creative hacks or themes. -

I think that this "new way of archy" is everything but new. To be quite honest, I find it ugly, plain, too simple and boring.I have sort of discovered a new style of archy, tell me what you think
Don't get too overconfident when you make something and end up loving it. There are always people like me who tell you the truth about it and truth hurts. -

You know, if you have something to advertise in the ad district go ahead, but don't use it to show one little building and run a poll as to whether its good or not. I'm quite sure this is not what the ad district is meant for. I'm locking this because I feel it's a wasted topic. If someone else disagrees by all means unlock it. -

Apprantly its unlocked, but I dont think it deserves to be locked. The guy is looking for some feedback on architecture, so Im not seeing anything wrong. For starters, Posix, never talk to someone who is starting out like that.... never. If they can be happy with what they built thats what is important, offering constructive critisism to help them improve is another thing.
As for the screens, they arent my favorite. First off, I fail to see what is new about them. Its not as though they are outright hideous, they just are a little too average. Try to work with more ornate buildings, a little bigger of a scale than this would be preferable. Basically, the buildings dont look bad, but its not enough to hold my interest or make me say wow. -

And I was so grateful that ToonTowner closed this thread.
PyroPenguin, I think Marshy obviously doesn't look for constructive criticm. He never asked "what could I do better?". What he asked was "Am I not better this time?!", meaning all he wants to hear is "oh yea, you seriously are, that's nice!".
I'm wondering whether NE is supposed to be the coffeeshop where junkies can get their daily praise from by paying with the typical screens we get to see since months. I wouldn't mind about the screens though aslong as the guy who made them actually wanted to improve and asked for help.... but he didn't. -

marshy you can and have done much better then that show them some of your better stuff -

Ok, it sucks, lock the topic, Kumba, i agree, that archy sucks, i admit it, i look stupid now, back to my own style. -

You dont get praise at NE for nothing, all he is going to get by leaving the topic open is more critisism, and thats good, cause if its done constructivly it can help. So I dont see how leaving it open helps him.I'm wondering whether NE is supposed to be the coffeeshop where junkies can get their daily praise from by paying with the typical screens we get to see since months. Ok, to be honest it isnt all bad, but it certainly isnt anything to take real note of, its just an average piece of architecture which wil likely be over looked in a park. If you really wanted constructive critisism then maybe yu should have given us a larger screen with more to base our oppinions off.
My thoughts on it : The base for good architecture is there, I would certainly not class that as architecture. What i would suggest is that you make the buildings much taller, and make them with more width and level changes. BIGGER IS BETTER! The larger buildings in parks are usually the ones which look better and therefore you would get recognition from. Just look at the starcade in Disney Escape or the large blue building in 'incoming'.
Also, this style is definetly not new, infact its the same style that everybody at RCT2.com (including yourself) was complaining about. Its the fabled (and bullshit) 'NE style'...... 2x2 buildings. So really you have started building in the style youve been slaggin off.
Oh well, maybe youll help the people at RCT2.com to stop stereotyping architecture as 'NE style'. -

I think it is okay. It isn't really anything special, but I don't agree completely with VooDoo. Bigger is not always better, especially if you are not talented in making archy. Also, a whole park full of big buildings isn't good either. It is important to mix the size of the buildings up too.
