Hello.
This could very well revitalize RCT 2...
The shop works...
Oh man oh man!

I like the fact that you can make shops, but not only is that too big for the peeps, it also doesn't look like it really fits in with the game. I do not like this shop for the same reason I do not like most custom scenery.

I think a few people are missing the point... it's not that the shop looks bad that matters, it's that he was able to make one which means we have opened up a whole new customizable area for RCT2... first it was scenery, and now shops... maybe rides if we get people with enough patience? Who knows!

I realize the possibilities, but it is just gonna be like custom scenery: It will make its way into people's parks and then that park will get downloaded by other peeps, giving them the scenery. Because of that, I have a bunch of crappy scenery with only a handful of good scenery, almost all of which happened to be made by Couger and TT. So until someone is actually good at it, there is just gonna be a whole bunch of peeps making crappy looking things and only a few peeps will actually make something that looks good.
Not to mention the fact that WW looks better than that shop. If I wanted oversized stuff, I'd go and get WW. I realize it is a functional shop, but it is not worth the space on my comp, especially not that one...
I just noticed that that is a so called "fry stand" as in smaller than a restaurant, just a little cart actually, and it is taller than the small tree near it in that picture

Heh.Just wait till we can import cars from WW into RCT2,now that is a fucking great idea. -

Cars are the last thing I would want from WW. The cars are just pointless in that game, like the rhino, surfboards, anaconda, etc. -

Then why excite the public? Its just wierd. I was reading on some forum that he wasnt going to release because he was too lazy? Thats shit man. He should release it, it would open up a whole new world. He is a fool but at the same time a genious. -

Does anyone know of anyone who has made a peep for custom scenery. Not a MOVING one, but just one that stands still or sits or something..because that could become very useful to me and my plans...if anyone could do this or knows a website that has...please contact me on AIM.
Aim: thorpedo2589...surprise huh? -

Thought I might as well respond to this, since I just found it.
First off, I can't really comment about the quality or usefulness of the art. I happened to have the mcdonalds object and used it since it was the only stall like thing I had available. Regardless, I have no real artistic abilities and would love to get the shop maker in the hands of Couger, Toontowner, Amazing Earl, or any of the others who have produced some really great scenery for RCT2. (Incidentally, the Dippin Dots stall on my site http://www.interactivitiesink.com/rct2 was done by Amazing Earl and I'm working with him to change his simulated rides to real ones).
But to say that I'm lazy, or shit, for not releasing the program. Hell, man, write your own! Anyone with any sort of programming experience can do it. Took me less than two weeks. I haven't released it (a)because I simply don't have the time to make it user friendly and I've seen the questions that people get on Dr. J's extremely user friendly program. It takes several steps to make a shop, and I can't even preview it until I create a scenario in RCT2 and then run the scenario and then test it for position and so forth.
I do plan to release the program some day. I'm innundated with object requests and artwork from others, but I want to get the program down to an understandable process and to show that animated rides can be done. (Actually Wacky Worlds has shown that animated rides can be done without changing the code; but I want to try to create entirely new rides, dammit!) Until that time, it won't happen. And since I have to work a full time job, and I own my own game publishing company on the side which takes me out of own narly every weekend this summer (lazy! ha! I wish I had the time to be lazy), I just don't get to work on the program as much as I'd like.
I hear that Dr. J. has been inspired by my progress and probably will have shops in the latest version of his editor. His editor is already much better than my program will ever be. Wait. Have patience. -

Welcome Buggy, and nice job with the stand.
I don't think it looks that bad, especially for just a tester version.
I would recommend ToonTowner if you wanna really expand the idea, he's the most remarkable RCT2 person I've ever seen, could really come up with some cool ideas I think.
Anyways, nice job.
