I totaly agree with Posix and Nic.

There are too many members who see Git and Harrakiri's posts and try to imitate them and it is getting very annoying. It's not funny or clever and wont earn them any respect.

It's really starting to piss me off the amount of stupid replys there are in every topic. The happy birthday smilie and the pictures from Ebaums are all old and boring now, as is the repeated swearing and apparent lack of respect some members have for intelligent topics.

So please if you are reading this and thinking to yourself that you may be guilty of doing this, think twice before you post next time and type something usefull for once.

Anyway, I never said that topics have to do something with RCT. The thing is, there aren't much interesting ones left. The last I can remember was CoasterEd's discussion about architecture. Quite a while ago, isn't it?

Also, about the whole thing where everyone is worried there rep, well they should be.  In the case of parkmakers they work really really hard to get there.  In the case of people with high post counts IE Me, Mantis and the others in 1000's we worked hard to get here, and pour alot of our life into the boards.

Do you actually think that a high postcount autmatically means you get a good reputation? I hope you don't. This whole disease that you want to be loved and praised by everyone destroys both, the quality of replies and the quality of parks. Whether parkmaker or the kind of guys you described (and I exclude Mantis here because he just isn't like that), none do their "job" for themselves. You do it to get a higher Postcount (because you think you'll get a better reputation), parkmakers do it to get praised. Whatelse is the AD? There've been so many parks looking all almost identical but in a way that non-NE-parkmakers (who are the people posting the most) will like and praise it. It's horrible! Originality has gotten so rare, it scares me, really.
I have a question. How did you survive the time when they took away the postcount? Do you enjoy posting after all? I mean, you consider it as "work", something that bugs you but you have to do it in order to get something back.
I have to say you are disenchanted with it.

iris and Adix dont need to worrry about the boards everything is doing just fine, and if it was such a problem that the annoucenments dont get enough replies I think that they would do something about it.

I may remember you that iris was often very frustrated with the site and even wanted to close it down. Do you really think there are many things they could do about the lack of reply? They are trying as mean as hell if you haven't noticed but it's only slowly getting better.

Anyway. I'm going to say something intelligent... Or try to. First of all, someone said people spam the forums and try to be like Git and Harakirii. That's not true. Those two don't spam at all. They usually post a good amount of meaningful content when they actually post. Git especially. While insulting everyone and killing the meaning of sarcasm, they don't really post in every thread multiple times per minute or bother people too much. People like me are the spammers. Just be happy I keep it in Free Speek. On the other hand, people like Vert45, Marshy, and Metal post mindlessly everywhere. Bitch them out.

On the issue of swearing... Who really gives a fuck? People like Vert45, Marshy, and Metal give swearing a bad reputation. It's really not so bad if you just ignore them. Look at what Git and Raven have written... It's great writing and guess what, they swear all the time. If you actually put content and meaning into your posts, you don't even realise how much you're swearing and nor will people who read it because there's more than "fuck" to read.

Yes, that's not true. Nobody ever said that Git and Harakirii would be spamming. I agree with you that some of their posts are really nice and have a good content. Still I haven't got the point why the swearing is so necessary for them. In my opinion it really spoils their posts.
Besides, I can't loose the feeling that they want to impress with their intelligence which would be a really weak thing to do. The only thing that bothers me about these guys is that they always have to rub you in the face how genius they are. I had a phase were I thought they weren't serious but this changed pretty quickly and I don't think I'm mistaken.

I can only suggest that everyone waits until the Blaze Battle to let fly. Otherwise you can just limit yourself to intelligent/remorseless swearing. I don't mind swearing to be honest. I do mind Git, though.

This is the only forum that i go to that swearing is allowed on, i swear because im making use of the fact that you swear. If i swore on any other forum, i would get banned, so i'm happy that i swear because i think that its acceptable.

I agree with you on both points. The difference is that NE has too many assholes (if I may say so) although these people aren't really assholes, as you have pointed out with DÃœKE. They just have the typical "If I'm arrogant, then I'm cool"-disease and that's probably what I want to stop.
I would like to hypothesise something.
If they feel "cool", they automatically feel good and are therefore entertained. Is that true? the reason for swearing? That would be sad....
