General Chat / Do we need to swear so much?

Maybe its just me, but any other topic (bar RCT ones), it seems to end in a slanging match. Now, I'm not in the least bit offended and I don't want to move into the world RCT Station policing but I'm simply wondering "why?"

Do really need to swear in every post and cuss the other person? Look at the street racing topic, 3 posts in and that fun loving "Harakirii" has already cussed the creator of the topic. Maybe its just me, but its slightly boring now. StupidGit doing it was quite funny, but now everyone seems to copying his style of posting. "shut the fuck up fucktard". Now at least when he does its slightly entertaining, but there are a lot of "pretenders" out there who are about as funny as, well, I won't say what.

Its was funny for the first 2 days and now its moving into the tedium stage, nearly every topic moves into a Spam match, using the "happy birthday" smilie or whatever. Now I'm not a mod or a parkmaker, far from it (well reasonably) and I have nothing to "threaten" you with bar these words I'm typing.

Ignore me if you like, but i'm pretty sure theres a few "neutrals" like me, pretty fed up with the tedium of reading through an enjoyable topic, only to find out some "fucktard" has started a spamming match, just because he cussed the creator.

Anyway, have a quick think over of what I've written. If you don't like it, then feel free to "verbally rape" me, swear at me loudly or something along those lines.

Yeah, I agree with you Nic. I don't understand why they cuss so much. Or cuss at all for that matter. I think cussing makes you look immature and lowers how people view you.

NE's Niveau couldn't drop much more than it already did through the last months. There's that certain group of people who spam and fill every thread with shit. 90% of all threads have either nothing to do with NE or RCT or everyone posts replies of one sentence. It's sometimes even less though. Happened in this thread too by the way, oh well...
Most threads are about totally stupid and unimportant topics that nobody wants to know.
How many mods does NE have? I don't understand why nobody does anything. I've talked to Adix and iris about it but both didn't seem to be bothered (although NE's updates get less reply than most threads in "FreeSpeak") so I thought I would be overreacting. At least Foozy and Zach have done something lately.
I think the mods are all more or less all reasonable and trustworthy people but in my opinion, you're definitely not doing a good job for a reason I can't think of.

About the thing with Harakirii, Git and all of these hyperintelligent guys...
You can be the clever genius you claim to be and shout it out in every post of yours and if it's fun for you to piss everyone off then so be it but why the fuck do I have to care ?!?!?!?
A sort of hierarchy developed here. The intelligent, the VIPs and so on vs. the rest. All what people seem to care for is their status and nothing else. I find it so pathetic and annoying. Especially when there are people trying to become one of these VIPs. Besides, most of these people don't have anything to do with RCT at all.

Another point, how Nic already said it, is the way how people behave to each other. I don't think there exists any thread here that doesn't have an insult in it. Is that really necessary? I couldn't think why.

I doubt many people are with me and I can't wait to get torn to shreds from all of those people I criticized.

I mean, don't get me wrong, I have an advice thread in the troubled rowd that is occasionally hijacked by 50,000 replies in a row, but I don't let it bother me. I just ignore it, even if it ruins my point.

Just ignore the idiots. Every site has them.
Plus I will do my bestest to try to stop useless spamming in the forums I have power in...

Although you more or less explained your point I still fail to understand why it is a good thing that members can be assholes at NE. Why do we want assholes? Why does it make NE better when everyone can act like a 5-year-old ?!

I also tried to ignore it but when every thread has a fair amount of insults and spam it's simply an impossible thing to do.

Posix. I can see where you come from for once. And youve got a good point. Most of the posts and threads on this site have nothing to do with NE or RCT but does it have too? No. Thats one of the best things about this forum. Its one of the few forums where you can do almost anything you want and not be whipped for it (Dnet). Yes there is alot of spam and there is nothing you can do about that, its someones way of expressing yourself. Also, about the whole thing where everyone is worried there rep, well they should be. In the case of parkmakers they work really really hard to get there. In the case of people with high post counts IE Me, Mantis and the others in 1000's we worked hard to get here, and pour alot of our life into the boards. iris and Adix dont need to worrry about the boards everything is doing just fine, and if it was such a problem that the annoucenments dont get enough replies I think that they would do something about it. Overall good point Posix I just dont agree with all your raggin on some of the most dedicated and enjoyable memebers of the site. Heh. Time for school.

Being able to use forms of speech is important to feel at ease and not tied down, but so is having some stability in topics and a maturity level that is more universal.

Most "Englishmen" don't talk like that. Only the "upper classes" like the royal family talk like that. Most of us "peasants" talk standard English with the exception of regional dialogue. (like Welsh/Scottish/Cornwall). Anyway, I'd rather talk in a posh accent than some Southern USA drawl.
