Look, I don't know how much passive aggressive / annoying shit happens behind the scenes but I can speak for myself and say there's no attempt to strong arm people who organize events here when I voiced a random thought about the future of the contest. I'm sure Sephiroth didn't have any intent like that either, nor anyone else who would add to that particular discussion. I don't think admins need to take each and every individual comment as some sort of demand or request and I find the "not right now", "not the right time" attitude really off putting. I'm going through the replies and suddenly Captain Killjoy comes in, reminding us of the obvious fact that H2H8 won't happen for another 2-3 years. We got it.  

Louis, don't try to make me feel bad by holding your adminship hostage and acting like it's too much pressure. I resent the attempt to shut me up by you saying that; it's immature and you're better than that. If you're stressed out, stretched thin or whatever, don't fall back on excuses or victimhood, take a break if you need to. Plus, there has been plenty of great data crunching and discussion of the current contest elsewhere. Acting like any other discussion is spoiling things is off base and thin skinned. The topic in the OP is a game changer for the finals and the future of the contest in general, there isn't much other present data to discuss.

I think the best course of action for everyone involved is to take this discussion to a new thread in the contests forum. It makes more sense, as it's regarding a different, future contest, and it won't seem like it's spoiling this one so much. 

Why would I ever think people are trying to strong arm us? Like I've said, we're all for people discussing it and giving their opinions on the future of the contest, we just don't want them at this moment in time. We aren't trying to be killjoys, that wasn't my intention.

I'm not trying to make anyone feel bad about anything, I don't get where that has come from, I was simply giving the reasons as to why I didn't want to have the discussion right at this moment. I wasn't trying to become a victim, I don't even know how I can be a victim?

Being an admin isn't too much pressure, if it was, I wouldn't be doing it. I never said any other discussion was ruining or spoiling things, I said that this particular discussion was distracting due to the reasoning I gave, that apparently makes me out to be a victim. I'm not doing any of what you have said that I am doing. I simply made a point that if you wish for us admins to step back a bit more, we can do so.

Nothing of what I said was said in confrontation and none of it was meant to make me a victim or anything that you've just said. I was giving my reasons as to why I didn't want the discussion so as not to just come across as shutting the discussion down because I don't like the discussion. I was being fair and explaining my reasoning.

Louis, in your own words you said just discussing it adds unnecessary stress. That's on you man, not every individual post is a member trying to hint at something or put pressure on you. Nobody needs your official take on every bullshit thought in their head. We don't need admin feedback on every little thing. Personally, talking about it now doesn't mean I expect the H4H8 schedule tomorrow.

To address what itm said. I'm certain that if someone would have posted a topic in the Contests forum, admins would have stepped in with "not the right time" "go back to the current forum" etc. That bothers me, because even after new information it feels like no place is sacred to shoot the shit and just TALK about things without some alternative motive or having to have things be "official". I know my posts are just bullshit off the top of my head, I think it's annoying to be treated like I'm jumping ahead of the gun just because it doesn't fit in with some admin's pre-programmed schedule of what is appropriate to talk about.

You say you want the discussion, you just don't want it RIGHT NOW. Why? What's the issue with that?

And if people would rather I stepped back and left the site to it, then I will do so.
