thats pretty nice steve, but mostly I'm posting cause I like your new profile pic.
^agreed, same with the ugly striped/tiled paths. Real queues look like regular paths with switchbacks!

Row of cypresses. Yeah, this is Steve's work. Are you recreating your recent RCT2 park? -

You can have regular paths as ques if you want
Recent update included a flat tarmac roof which will overlay paths nicely.

I do not have an oversight over the entire development history, but there are two things that I am wondering about. Am I right that the tracks can still only go in 8 general directions if they were laid out on a compass?
I know that there has been a debate about clearances, but why not allow a full zero clearance mode either via cheats, an advanced building mode or a third party programm; a trainer like 8cars? I know we're not the primary focus group for this game, but I applaud the developer for working so closely with the community.

@steve
@Live on earths ass: Most of it is already zero clearances. Tracks can start/end on the 8 directions, however because you can adjust all piece length you can easily be way off grid in some parts. Its a bit like if rct came with 1000's of track pieces at varying sizes.

Unlike RCT though there is the opportunity to hack it to any angle Like here. Where the orange are the standard angles and green is one i set myself.
So the ability is there its just not in the standard game because it produces offset issues which are tough to fix

Be interesting if anyone ever works out how to import nl1/nl2/.3ds coasters directly. Remember your experiment roomie, soon got a bit complex with seb's explanation about banking though

I found this library a while ago. Could it help with what you're doing? I think it only supports NL1 tracks though. -

Update 74
Improvements for the color picker have been on our list for a long time and it gets requested a lot lately, so we started working on that. We still need to clean it up and make it look nice, so here’s just a screenshot of the current work-in-progress state:
There are new tools for picking colors from existing objects and recoloring them, and palettes can be saved.
Objects can have varying amounts of custom colors (1-4), which made designing the user experience for this window surprisingly difficult. I’m not entirely satisfied with how it currently works, but we got some ideas how to improve it. A couple more days of thinking and work and it should be fine.
As a nice side-effect, with a little extra work we could also make these tools work for changing the colors of individual track segments and coaster cars: -

Hoorah. Good to see this being worked on. Its not a game changing dynamic but its really bloody handy

Looking good, RRP. That coaster/dark ride(?) looks pretty cool. Is that sloped curved lift hacked? Or am I just seeing things? -

No hacking other than the observation tower inside the gerstlauer spiral lift.Spiral lifts you can build by default. Quite enjoying just freestyle building. Massive planning holes coming soon

I just got a $15 Amazon gift card from a White Elephant Christmas Party. Should I get this game? Is it worth it? Or should I wait until it's past alpha or at least beta?
