I can't work out what those top trains are supposed to be - they look like the single row PTC trains, but they have a zero car and they're trailered. Anyone know what it is, or is it just a made-up train type for the game?

Maybe a start at unthemed Millennium Flyers?

The main reference used for them was this:

Our default trains are always modeled after real ones (roughly! Making some adjustments so they fit the game scale and style), alternate trains might not always be.

    - roof scenery pieces that actually line up from tile to tile for a larger roof (this is for scenery builders and not so much the game design-- but it would make those pieces 100% more versatile.

    Can you elaborate on that?

Could a 'ride construction view' be with clearances visible?

like the wire-frame you showed as a demo in the dev log about 6 months ago.

Thinking about it, but not entirely convinced it'll help much. It's very difficult to see where exactly objects intersect in 3D if you can't freely move the camera around them.

Oh, so they are Millenium Flyers.

Sorry I wasn't clear on the scenery thing.  This is really related to the 3rd party scenery developed so far-- that the roof pieces don't line up across multiple tiles like the low slope roof does:

    scenery_zps0s1use5k.png

I'm certain that will be fixed with more scenery over time-- but I hope when new builders are making scenery they can align it with the 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, or whole tile.

Sort of related to that, it would be nice if those wall scenery pieces could also be put at 1/4, 1/2, and 3/4.  For some buildings, I find that I need a little more variation like that.

I´m with CP6 on that, would be awesome if the wall and roof objects could be put at quartertile steps. If you know what i mean.

I´m really having a blast in this game and I got something done today, yay.

I think this is a issue with the custom scenery makers? setting stacking clearance to a whole tile rather than half?

Would like to see everything stack-able to 1/4 - 1/2 heights.Except trees maybe.

Could the wood coaster support object have its clearance removed seb?

    that looks properly insane.

    ^that´s an understatement

    Haha wow RRP. Very cool.

How do you raise the land that way without being sloped?
  • RRP%s's Photo

@Steve: Theres a button near the 'land size' slider. You can set it as flat walls or sloped

If you move the slider to zero it becomes corners only (rct style)

  • In:Cities%s's Photo
Steve, it took me forever to figure that out haha

Pshh Steve is too cool to use scenery mods like the rest of us. #hipsterlife

I looked at this picture for days now and it keeps bugging me.

Am I stupid or is there some kind of magic to get that track/car/whatthefuck working?

    I really need a vertical B&M track.

This is done via a simple hack.  Go into the save game notepad file and find the lines of coaster code.  You need to change it over from one coaster to the coaster which has the elements you need.  So this one has the eurofighter trains, which means he started with the Eurofighter, built a layout, and then changed the type to wing coaster.  I can make a quick tutorial if you need.

You guys playing any game other than RCT2 and LL is pure blasphemy. Those are the only coaster games I'll ever play. However, I do like the attempt to be creative at another game and will take a look here from time to time to see what you come up with.

  • MCI%s's Photo

@CP6: That´s be great, I guess I´m no the only one who could use such a tutorial. :)

  • Roomie%s's Photo

MCI and CP6 there is a tutorial all ready which explains the basics

Messing around still with wooden coasters and the new castle pieces. Really enjoying this game. However, the landscape editor needs serious work. I like the water feature fine, but for adjusting the land itself its just choppy and strange. WAIT, forgot to mention we need waterfalls and other things like fountains too.

I like steve, big improvement on the coaster from earlier attempt i think. Looks smoother.

Elaborate on 'landscape editor needs serious work', I like it at the minute but, would like more height options and some diffused blending on tile textures.

I dreamt a few nights ago that parkitect had a weathering tool, like smudge and blur in photoshop haha.

  • ][ntamin22%s's Photo

Full-tile queue was always an awkward workaround to fit the RCT engine.  Not sure why these newer games are still using that convention.
