the referee that did colombia-brazil is an idiot. he was almost like a 12th player for brazil, and gave a free kick that shouldn't have been one that led to brazil's second goal. the only thing he did right from what i've seen was deny the time the ball went into the goal after silva walked into ospina as he was kicking

I think the commentator was right on that gdb, it was yellow. I think the ref is bad indeed but he makes bad calls for both sides.

 

For the rest the match is disappointing. Colombia is disappointing. Fouls and schwalbes on both sides. Some good football too inbetween, mostly from Brazil, but it's an exhausting game to watch. So many game interruptions...

Watching Brazil is infuriating. I really don't want them to win this World Cup.

And did the referee even have his cards on him today? Brazil should be without Fernandinho aswell as Thiago Silva for the next match, god knows how many times a yellow card should've been given to numerous players. So frustrating. Where's Howard Webb when you need him? lol

i sure hope the other quarter finals will be better, if germany and brazil don't play better i think we can certainly have a good chance against them if we reach the final

Brazil without Neymar he has been officially ruled out for the rest of the WCUP with a fractured vertebra.... Not to mention no T.Silva, Germany vs Holland in the final? I am getting a bit ahead of myself here particularly with the dutch side of the draw but I expect Holland to beat Costa rica and judging personally by argentina & belgiums performances = average bar messi i'd say Holland could/should beat either of them. Discuss...

Germany v Holland final is the most predictable and possibly the most desirable. Currently it's Holland that deserve to win this the most.

Fuck I would love that final. But Costa Rica is no pushover, Argentina is unpredictable (mediocre team with a few secret weapons), and Belgium have shown some serious quality against the USA. I have no fucking clue.

If Costa Rica made it to the semi finals my god they should go all the way and win it what an incredible story that would be.

Well that was a boring match.

I've wanted to like Belgium during this tournament but there's something about them that I cant quite put my finger on. I feel like they've had an easy route to the quarters and have now been undone by a weak Argentina side.

It's still too difficult for us to make the game against not so attacking teams. USA played very attacking and open which was great for us, and we got a great game. If our opponent plays a bit defensive we can't get trough their defense. 

 

Of course I'm sad with the loss, but after 12 years without EC or WC we can be proud! This generation is still so young so I expect great things in the future.

i noticed that too, belgium got most of their shots out of quickly build up attacks that only really work when most of the opponents team is on your half of the field. i'm kinda glad di maria is injured though, this should make the match against them in the semi finals if we'll win against costa rica just a little bit easier 

I just hope it's not a Brazil v Argentina final, I don't think I'd bother watching it.

how did this come down to penalties, let's hope van gaal does it again and krul wins us the match like the other subsitues did in the past. though knowing our past with penalties it might just end here
