gdb that would indeed be an epic final! The good thing about it is, that although there's a big rivalry between these two countries there's never bad blood or big trouble.

Quite a surprise that USA won against Ghana. Ghana is to my opinion the best African team on the WC so I expected something from them. That group is becoming very interesting for the Belgians. I'd rather want us to play against USA or Ghana than Portugal... Portugal was weak against Germany, which impressed me a lot. So hopefully we Belgians can win our group so we can avoid Germany in the next round!

 

In the 2nd round, I see the other 3 teams as feasible. Portugal was very disappointing... But first we have to win our group ourselves before we can judge the other teams.

 

Brazil-Belgium would be my dream final! Brazil scores first but the goal is unfairly rejected by the referee. Afterwards we score 2 times and have our sweet revenge for 2002! But dreams are lies...

Wow there's a lot going on in here to catch up on.

So with no internet currently I don't have much to do except watch the World Cup.

Watched every single game so far except Ivory Coast V Japan (was just too late at night)

Highlights so far: Netherlands v Spain, Uruguay v Costa Rica, England v Italy, France v Honduras and Germany v Portugal

Lowlights: Mexico v Cameroon and Iran v Nigeria

Matches have generally been good fun to watch, more so than normal but that's probably due to the fact that the groups are so weird this year. I mean some groups are ridiculously strong others ridiculously weak. Stupid Fifa rankings lol

Mexico-Cameroon a lowlight  Was a nice game... If the Devils didn't play this evening I'd be very curious about the Mexicans against Brazil.

Was 2 mediocre teams, neither of which who could defend or score. They were both relying on the poor defence of set pieces to score. Just wasn't that great football, specially compared to the delights of other lower ranked teams lol

Mexico played nice, they had no luck with the referee who flagged 2 valid goals as offside... It wasn't top football, but just a nice game. Mexicans very technical and I like that. I think Greece-Colombia was a way more lowlight than this game... 

Germany shaved Portugal

Glad we finally beat Ghana, though other than the two goals, there was very little to cheer about. One of the worst international performances from this US team, and surely the same can be said for Ghana. Wasn't looking forward to playing Germany, but especially not now after that spanking they gave Portugal. Looking to tie Portugal, and not get humiliated by Germany, but both seem far after that awful performance.

Belgium were lucky to get the win from Algeria. Didn't think they would at one point. Not a great match.

South Korea and Russia was good, shame Korea lost interest in attacking towards the end, they looked the better team to me.

Brazil Mexico was brilliant. Mexico actually looked the better team and was a massive improvement over the game against Cameroon. Was as if Brazil allowed them to play normally. Brazil are looking awful this year, what is it with the big teams, it's like no one has turned up!

Netherlands Australia was another brilliant game. Australia deserved the draw, Netherlands seemed to struggle at some points and I thought Australia were impressive.

Spain Chile is still ongoing but bloody hell Spain are going to crash out the contest at this rate.

That was a terrible match. And Spain is getting its ass kicked again. On the one hand I enjoy it a bit, on the other hand it might be better for us if Spain wins. Chile will beat us if we play like today.

 

Great game by Depay, he's the future.

Depay is going to be one hell of a football player. van gaal sees a lot in him and is willing to buy him once he moves to manchester united, let's just hope that he gives him enough playtime, though that would be depay's best shot out of many top clubs that might send out a bid for him

Yes, it should be very exciting. Or Chile will crush us. Don't forget about the other match in this group though... Spain vs. Australia. I expect Australia to be eager to win, despite being out of the tournament already. Can they strike a final blow?

Id like to think so. Australia have played extremely well for a side of their caliber. I see them producing an upset, if Spain even bother to turn up with this embarrassment

What is going on?! Australia are actually performing in this tournament. I think we already know what the goal of the tournament will be...Van Basten anyone?

 

I have personally never rated Belgium, despite what everyone is saying, and while one game certainly doesn't prove anything I think that how lucky they were to win would suggest that they will struggle against the stronger sides.

If one team were lucky, it were the Algerians because without that penalty they wouldn't have scored. Never. On the other side, I had faith we would at least score once. Wilmots used the right subs, our goals weren't lucky... It was a difficult game but Belgium couldn't play his game against a very defensive Algeria. Against more open minded teams we will play better!

 

Our players were stressed as hell, which is normal when you didn't play a WC or EC in 12 years and have such a young group. Should be better next games. 

I know we aren't technically out of the cup yet, we can still qualify, but we don't deserve to.

We played well against Italy, but played awful tonight. I think Italy and Costa Rica should go through.

Epic match. I think every football fan has a 'hate him - love him' relation with Suarez. 

I love him (no homo)  Didn't expect Suarez this good after his surgery, but he's a great player.
