In the spirit of Disneyland closing their Space Mountain down to probably castrate it just in time for the 50th anniversary, I decided to take a poll. Please post in this topic as well on why you chose what you did.
Personally, I like the WDW edition. Mostly because it's the only one I've been on. But anyway, the layout looks a lot better than the DL/DLP versions, and unlike those, the building is 185 feet tall. Disneyland's is 75 feet tall and not even close to imposing. And the Parisian version I don't like, simply because Space Mountain is a classic ride that Walt Disney himself worked on, and I doubt he would want a Space Mountain with inversions.
So post away, kiddies. Feel free to change no one's opinions. -

Disney Land Paris all the way baby! The ride itself looks stunning. The launch is pretty cool, not particularly exhillerating, but still cool. The ride itself is a bit painful, but it is very fun. And the soundtrack that plays is just divine! Pure class!!
I do love the WDW version, but it is lacking the divine soundtrack. It is an extremely fun ride and i love the vintage space feel.
I like the DLP one a tad more because it offers more than the WDW one does.
DLP: 8/10
WDW: 7.5/10
I haven't been on the others, so I can't rate them. -

The one at Paris is fucking amazing. You have no clue untill you have ridden it. The big giant moon adds all the more to it also. Really I recommend everyone buy a ticket to Paris and go ride it. -

Wait I didnt read the post. Why are they taking down SM at DL. And What are they doing to it? Also. What did they do to the Madderhorn? -

They are rehabbing it for the 50th. Replacing everything. The end. And I love DLs Space Mountian.Wait I didnt read the post. Why are they taking down SM at DL. And What are they doing to it? Also. What did they do to the Madderhorn?

Matterhorn was only rehabbed. Space Mountain is being totally rethemed and redone, with *possibly* a new track layout. Which I hope does not happen. If they really want a launched ride, just knock out SuperStar Limo and put in an RnRC clone.Wait I didnt read the post. Why are they taking down SM at DL. And What are they doing to it? Also. What did they do to the Madderhorn?

Jezz...DL's Space Mountain was good when I was 6. Now it is horrible. If they replaced the fuxing track and cars or fixed or soemthing it would be good that shit is hella bumpy. Old steel coasters suck. -

Who are we fooling? No one here has been on every Space Mountain. Myself I haven't been on any Space Mountains because everytime I go to Disneyland it's closed for 'rennovations'. Yeah whatever that means. I say Matterhorn trumps them all. -

Actually, they shut down space in disneyland until 2005 and are replacing the track and putting in new cars and stuff. It wasn't supposed to shut down until this fall, but they found a stress fracture and decided to close it early.....
And I have been on the WDW Space Mountain.

Jesus. Till 2005? Thats so long. If they work on it each day then they must be doing something amazing. It is really outdated. Mmmm, there are prolly going to be new plasmas in there. -

No new layout, just re-tracked, and some updating of the building and queue. Trust me when I say that Disneyland's Tomorrowland will fucking blow (doesn't it already) when SM re-opens.
But, while you all wait for it to re-open in 2005, you can always ride the Submarine Voyage starting late this year/early next! -

I've been on every Space Mountain, and the one in Paris is by far the best.
The themeing is top notch, and the queue lines is fucking amazing, as you can see the glow in the dark asteroids and coaster move about. Moon is nice too, and the launch is fun.
Paris owns. -

I've only done the one at Paris and it's my favorite indoor coaster. The ride is about experience and not necessarily the ride itself. I would probably be bored to death if it wasn't enclosed. The theming is very nice. I really like the Jules Verne style. The cannon adds to the effect. Did anyone know they have to launch the train on the midsection of the hill? It would originally be lauched from the bottom, but it would go too fast if they did that. The sound the soaring wind the spacy feel is great, flying through the asteriods. Amzing, but very expensive.... -

Disneyland's
I've only been on the US versions, but I think Tokyo's (and HK) has the same layout as Anaheim's. Magic Kingdom's is too lit up and nothign really special abotu it.
And Moon, Disneyland's is only 75 feet because otherwise it would be too imposing and throw off the force perspective used through the park. And Magic Kingom's is supposed to be liek Disneyland's Matterhorn so it had to be large.
